Apr. 10th, 2008 12:27 pmfoto_decadent- a beautiful photoshoot... I love the girl's face and body and the style of the shoot

DUDE. maid cafe. in la. I'm so going once I don't feel like road-kill!
really facinating article about appreciation of art (they took a world-famous violinist and stuck him in a subway to play to see if anyone would stop and listen. It's very interesting.) thanks to utenai!
this makes me really want a DS. I want to get my celphone decorated hardcore soon. I'm tired of the stickers I buy coming off. It needs to be permanently bling.

Date: 2008-04-10 08:45 pm (UTC)Thanks for posting that article about Joshua Bell. I frequent the subway every Sunday, and you can count on someone playing music... Usually, I have somewhere to go, but if I don't I like to listen.
I'm pretty sure, honestly, I wouldn't have been able to tell he was (I don't want to say better) different than everybody else, I enjoy classical music myself and would have stopped to listen (I'm guilty of probably only listening until the next train came by). If I had change, I would have donated, too.
I wrote a post a week or two back where a guy was singing Bob Marley's "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and it made me cry :/ (Things were the exact opposite).

Date: 2008-04-10 10:32 pm (UTC)You don't know me, but is it okay if I ask you a couple things? Like, how do you go about making reservations in Japan? Do you need to know Japanese when you call the hotel? Do they have you give a credit card number and stuff like you do here? Also, do they have English ATMs? If I brought money with me, I doubt I'd want to always have it all in my pocket, you know? Do they use an American debit card?
I ask because I am in the beginning stages of planning to go to Japan and since you're the only one I know who has been on vacation there I thought I'd ask you ^^ Hope that's okay ^^

Date: 2008-04-10 10:36 pm (UTC)English is limited though so you have to be patient! Yes, they take your credit card number in many places. however, some places take cash only.
you can get cash through your ATM at most post offices in Japan. This is the best way, but take some USD with you and change at least a couple hundred at the airport in JAPAN. You'll find that you need more cash than you think you will, and it may not be convenient for you to go to a post office. Lots of places ONLY take cash (lots of places do take american credit cards too though)

Date: 2008-04-11 12:19 am (UTC)OH WOW.
I found getting a DS to be so worth it. I didn't think I'd have a reason for one, but then I finally got one, and play it often! I even find myself pulling it out while waiting in line at the grocery store, things like that.

Date: 2008-04-11 12:33 am (UTC)pretied, feel free to email me, but with yukata, basically, you tie the sash part around your waist (no particular trick, just hide the strings) and then pop in the bow part in the back. (the metal part slips in under the sash part that you already tied.) does that make sense?
just fyi, a regular yukata bow (not pretied) is not that hard once you get used to it, too, and it's easy to tie on yourself (ie once you know how)
