DUDE. maid cafe. in la. I'm so going once I don't feel like road-kill!
really facinating article about appreciation of art (they took a world-famous violinist and stuck him in a subway to play to see if anyone would stop and listen. It's very interesting.) thanks to utenai!
this makes me really want a DS. I want to get my celphone decorated hardcore soon. I'm tired of the stickers I buy coming off. It needs to be permanently bling.

Date: 2008-04-10 10:32 pm (UTC)You don't know me, but is it okay if I ask you a couple things? Like, how do you go about making reservations in Japan? Do you need to know Japanese when you call the hotel? Do they have you give a credit card number and stuff like you do here? Also, do they have English ATMs? If I brought money with me, I doubt I'd want to always have it all in my pocket, you know? Do they use an American debit card?
I ask because I am in the beginning stages of planning to go to Japan and since you're the only one I know who has been on vacation there I thought I'd ask you ^^ Hope that's okay ^^

Date: 2008-04-10 10:36 pm (UTC)English is limited though so you have to be patient! Yes, they take your credit card number in many places. however, some places take cash only.
you can get cash through your ATM at most post offices in Japan. This is the best way, but take some USD with you and change at least a couple hundred at the airport in JAPAN. You'll find that you need more cash than you think you will, and it may not be convenient for you to go to a post office. Lots of places ONLY take cash (lots of places do take american credit cards too though)
