Framin Stuff
Apr. 9th, 2010 10:20 pmSo, I suddenly realized that we have NO pictures up in our house. Even though we have some pretty fun stuff.. . like my slightly tattered but still awesome Beauty and the Beast poster signed by Glen Keane and James Baxter and my Chris Buck signed Tarzan one-sheet and my Richard Taylor signed Lord of the Rings poster... The funny thing is, I don't usually care about having things signed, but these I like and have happy memories attached to each meeting.
... but some of it, I dunno. I feel like I need to go on some EPIC SEARCH for more awesome art to litter my home with. I feel like some of the stuff I have is lame and isn't really me enough now. Like I LOVE Mike Mignola's Hellboy... but do I have a poster by him that's indicative of what I love about his work? No. I'd really like to get some more of my favorite Japanese woodblock prints up, too... (and obviously, I need to frame something Doctor Who... and I'd like to print out some of my favorite cosplay photos and vacation photos... )
I still really need to get some cels framed in the next year or two. (We only have two cels framed...) It's lame to have these dream cels of mine stuck in a book where I never see them. Namely, Secret of Nimh, The Last Unicorn, SheRa, Kiki's Delivery Service and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Maybe I can get one framed for my birthday or something. Just kinda pricey because cels have to be framed specially. The plan is to put the animation art in the dining room. It doesn't get direct sunlight and we leave the cellular shades down in there, so they'd probably be safe enough. I mean, it's not like I can put them in a total dark out room, I guess. so.. yeah. At least there we'd see them a lot and it'd be cool for when we have company and use it as a dining room.
Tomorrow we plant clematis!
