That's it. I can't take it anymore. As soon as I'm done with these From Far Away costumes I'm making myself 1 plaid and 1 floral maxi sundress. I've been wanting to make one for forever. Can't buy one in the stores because I hate empire-waisted or bag-dresses. I want a fitted bodice with a looooong tiered skirt.

~ chu... anyone notice the Fourth Doctor on the left there?

I don't find the empire waste to work well on many women. Either it makes you look dumpy or it makes you look adolescent.

Oh, I love the cream colored one. It makes me want to run barefoot in the grass. Sounds like the perfect project for spring. :D

Augh, I want a dress like that too. A cut like that can look good on a woman as big as me, and the cuts they sell in the stores basically do not. :( (Empire waists look good on hardly anyone!)

And, LOL @ the Doctor sneaking into fashion shows :P

empire waisted stuff always makes me look pregnant. :S I have a gorgeous sundress that i got on 3rd street promenade a few years ago. I love it! But... they forgot to put a zipper on it. so getting INTO it is hilarious to watch. getting out of it is sort of like a cat trying to get a sock off it's head.

BUAHAHA!

Why hello there Doctor. Didn't fancy you for a fashion guy. ;D

Guess I'm going to be right in fashion...whenever I get that scarf done!

Cute dresses. Wish I could do the long skirt/dress thing. Just makes me look shorter then I actually am.

I have plaid winnie the pooh dress I still need to finch but I'm with you, I have gotten patterns already to start on some dresses. Stores never carry the type of dresses I want. So glad cosplay sewing will be placed to good use.

I'm totally with you on this! Being tall (and leggy apparently) I do suit a long dress, but can never find one that is flattering! I'm not a big fan of the empire waistline on me (which has always been my worry with Regency!) as I need that waist definition. Back when I was working at a high end fabric store, I bought a couple different silk georgette's that I planned to make into maxi's. I'm just so scared to cut into the silk! eeep! I want something simple, fitted, floaty, girly and of good quality! Not too much to ask for right? :P

I do hope you'll share the finished products!
