I have two kinda involved illustrations I want to color, so I'll post them later, but for now,...

Waters of Mars scared me :< Especially since I've never really seen Doctor Who before, I had the episode recommended by a friend, so.. yeah.

I wouldnt recommend watching it out of context...! you should watch some of the older series 1-2 stuff first.

Yes! The best skirts have pockets! My two favorite skirts have wildly deep pockets and they are awesome for it! :D You have excellent fashion sense, clearly.

Regarding the DW Comic, I FELT THE SAME EXACT WAY! I went to work the next day and talked to the other Who fans and they were like "Shhs, it's okay. It's going to be interesting to see how they handle this."

I still have rage though...

the only thing worse than no pockets are shallow ones. Because then they're like a big commie lie. :<

My thoughts EXACTLY. I started yelling at my poor fiance "They're going to RUIN the Doctor ON PURPOSE to make you like that @#$%ing 12 year old who is replacing him!!!!!!!!" I'm so pissed.

I'm kinda hoping they do, but without betraying the 10th doctor we love.

I mean, the series 1 and series 2 finales HURT. But they were good that way. You don't want someone to just go "Ok bye!"

I thought the plot was very interesting. To be able to see such a dark side of him... It was new and refreshing. Too bad it is coming to an end? I'm going to miss David.. I was just getting used to him XD
But I'm also very excited for the new doctor and cannot wait for all the new episodes to come!!

And yes, I hate it when things don't have pockets... (I NEED them lol)

The Doctor needs his companions to provide the moral center in his worst of times. It isn't unnatural for him to get dark or get full of himself. Hell, he was booted from Galifrey for being a rebel who didn't exactly follow the rules. If I remember right there was even a future Doctor interfering in the Doctor's trial on Galifrey during his 6th regeneration. Then during his 7th regeneration it is first hinted that he has another name and may be older then he lets on. He did work with the first Time Lord to create the Hand of Omega. I think the Doctor will continue to manipulate fixed points in time to the point that he may be partly responsible for some of mankind's evolution.

I -am- joking around, hens it being a comic and me saying "i kid, i kid". So please understand that I AM kidding, and I realize all the things you are saying even as I joke about it. (I'm pretty sure that RTD is going to do something very interesting with this even if I have an unreasonable knee-jerk reaction)

I do think that The Doctor is better with his companions, they've said this repeatedly.

However, if we're talking about this as if it was real and talking about a philosophical standpoint... People are only as good as they are by themselves. If you're only good when someone's watching, or when you have a friend with you, then how good are you?
There's, to me, a big difference between making some poor choices when you don't have the positive influence of someone else (like the Racnos drowning Doctor for example...) there's a big difference between that and the Doctor that we saw in Waters of Mars. I like the Doctor's dark side, but this in Waters of Mars felt forced to me, or slightly out of character with what they've established. or that it didnt have enough story to backup or build up to him getting to that point. I'd rather they have nixed the previous episode and used that to further the character development to get him to this point if that's what they wanted to do.

But like I said, I'm holding out to see what they do with it, and I may feel differently upon second watching.

I am sure there will be an explanation for the Doctor's emotional tangent come the final two episodes. He may be being attacked on some mental level that pushed forward his bottled up darker emotions. Maybe with the Master showing back up there is some plan to make the Doctor reckless or second guess his judgment.

When I was in Japan, I stumbled upon a flea market in Tokyo with my friends. Upon seeing all the fun items, and noting my small, small budget and even smaller bag I had with me, I said:

"I'll only buy something if it is a purple plaid skirt."

My rules had been set, and I was saved from unplanned spending... or so I thought. My friend found it, and I think it was around 1000 yen? It's ankle legnth, lined, and has pleats and a nice waitband.

But the best part about it is that it is a skirt with pockets. They hid them in the pleats! I had to re-sew one of the pockets since it was ripped when I got it, but it is still the awesomest skirt I own.

A purple plaid skirt with pockets.
