Susan and I ordered some Tsukineko inks and brushes this week (for painting silk), so I went over to her house to fart around with them. It was nice to have company, and frankly, my apartment is so small and messy right now that there's no way I'd have had room to paint there. (We don't even have a table and this was like at least 6 yards of fabric...)

Here's the pretty much finished cape fabric. There's something about the kinda-messy bleeding that is appealing to me. I like how the metallics turned out, too. Pretty good for a first try anyway. All in all, it was good fun. Kinda like finger painting. ha. If I do it again and want a more controlled look, I think I'll use stencils or resist. You can't tell in this dark light, but the colors are nice and saturated. I'm very happy with the inks I got.
(as you can see, Youta's helping)

It's loosely based on this Amano Vampire Hunter D image:

Also, Ryu put up Hello Kitty Yukata obi this past week. (there's still several colorways left!)
I picked out this goldXpink one since it would coordinate best with my existing yukata (and it's really hard for me to find yukata long enough). It was a hard choice though the lavendarXpink was super cute, too.

I really enjoy how Youta always tries to help, hehe XD

The painting turned out really nice! It looks very much like the Amano picture you posted :D

And that obi fabric is so cute!
