frou frou, I love you.
May. 6th, 2009 08:52 amI want to dress like this everyday.

I love Emily Temple Cute's breezy sweet coordinations so much... It's a good thing their stuff doesn't fit me, or I'd be in trouble! ETC feels much more like me lately than full lolita-style. (I keep trying full loli dresses on and then just feeling rather awkward and blah about it... while this more casual style feels more friendly to me.) This type of skirt is so easy to make if you can find a cute fabric, and I have so much cute fabric stocked up! I hope I have time to sit down and sew a few soon! I've been wearing a lot of skirts lately, but it takes a bit more guts on my part to wear such a very cute skirt as "daily wear" and not feel self conscious. I do get up the guts sometimes. (that's the carosel skirt I made a while ago and my cinderella ring from Cheryll.)... and then here's today's outfit (with my Marie Antoinette shirt).
I wonder though how hard it is to do lacy or self-ruffle embellishments on knit tshirts. (the trick being that the base fabric is stretchy...) For instance, I really love this 18th-century-style self-ruffle embellishment on this j-crew top or this corsage one... but of course a corsage could be done as a separate pin (which is better...)
I love these new dotted skirts at BTSSB. They also added some more L sized blouses, this time in black and pink, too! (there's more if you go look at the site)
I've been packing up some of the fragile remaining items in our house. The old book is one of Mitch's relatives'. I really don't know the backstory on it, but I find it's tatteredness and the drawing on it to be utterly charming. The kitsune mask is one I picked up in Kyoto on my last trip. It's just the right size for my dolls, and well, I have a "thing" something-aweful for kitsune.

Date: 2009-05-06 04:24 pm (UTC)Oooh you got the skirt from that one store *vague* on livejournal! Did they make it in your size and how long did it take to arrive? I saw it the other night and wanted to buy one (and their AP replica dress)
X____X Baby is killing me! I want the mint and yellow skirt, and their new mint blouse.

Date: 2009-05-07 03:32 am (UTC)Though you've probably only seen me mostly in lolita, I RARELY ever wear it out and not at all in public alone. >_<;; So yes, I agree -- ETC stuff is perfect for normal day wear. <3
Too bad it costs an arm and a leg, though.
