headsup if you want to hit SoCAL Sakura/Hanami this year!

~Completely Unrelated Things:

I got my drawing mojo back! HURRAY! onward and upward!

There's some seriously awesome jackets in the 1999 RTW Fall and Spring (you have to join the comm to see. It's a great comm. beware, random haute couture boobies.)

My Book Of Impossible Things should be here soon! SQUEEE!

I really want to make one of these dresses. <3 (not for any particular date. just someday)
... on thinking about it... I think all I'd need is a pale pink and/or gold petticoat and a chemise.

Oddly enough, this piece was in the "Gothic" exhibit at FIT that I went to last year -- it was lovely to see it in person!

Ah, 1999 :)

<_< I kinda wanted to do a Ciel since LEETLE boys are the only opposite gender cosplay I can do. Let me know if you don't already have one XD

I think I can without having to do much. I have a Black Peace Now ruffled jacket so I guess I'd just need to make shorts and wear one of my loli blouses :D What do you think? The wig would be the only thing after that.

yeah! I think that would work well! :D
(well, you know, and an eyepatch and shoes, etc.)

Georgian clothing takes a lot of dedication sewing-wise! I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for you considering the other clothing you've done. I can imagine how fun it would be to buy up the lush fabrics alone for a piece like that.

And congrats on the drawing-mojo returning and the impending Book of Impossible things arriving!

I think I'd do it 18th century style, kinda like Marie Antoinette's (coppola) milkmaid theatre costume. So I'd use my already done pocket hoops and stays. :)

That Book Of Impossible Things looks so cool! I didn't even know they were making that. Also didn't know that they came out with a "Future Sonic Screwdriver" that Alex Kingston had in the Library eps. Funny, since I was just watching those eps last night with Ali, and I was wondering how hard it would be to make the regular screwdriver into that one. Though what I'd like is that "interactive screwdriver" laser tag set.

oh man, screwdriver tag laser.

A+++

yeah I have the future one, too! I want to get an extra screwdriver and mod it into a USB drive

Wow, a sonic screwdriver USB drive would be super rad!

I saw this item for the first time today, it's so cute, now i want it!

I forget, did you get the pocket watch? That Book of Impossible Things would naturally make a perfect set with the watch. Especially if one were to cosplay maid!Martha or that woman the Doctor was in love with.

Actually, knowing that the future sonic screwdriver exists makes me think someone should do a Library cosplay group.

yeah, I have two of the pocket watch actually! (I painted one gold for my steampunk) I LOVE IT. I want a better version, but the toy is super sweet.

I'd love to cosplay River Song, but the thought of making a spacesuit makes me cringe. If someone found a suit kinda like it that could be modded, I'd be all over that shit. it'd make the coolest photoshoot.

I suppose you could always cosplay the white-dress "saved" version of River Song. But then you wouldn't get to use the sonic.

I think the hardest part of that spacesuit would be the collar. You wouldn't even really need to make a helmet for most of the characters. Though if you did a group, of course you would need to have at least one creepy dude in a helmet with a skull face.

I know you posted a photo of the spacesuit from when you were in London. Did you get any more pics of it?

I have enough to do a copy of it:
http://community.livejournal.com/dw_cosplay/227243.html

but I'd have to find someone to make the collar for me. I think it would be above my skill level. (and I wouldn't want to make it)
The suit itself would be a bit of a pain, but not that hard. :)

Good pics!
There's a lot of stitching on those suits.
The collar looks manageable, depending of course on how accurate one wanted to be.

really? it looks like impossible to me. lol. I don't think I'd even know where to start. It's so big and uniform! *___* If there was some way to do it via casting, then you could have like a CREW.

the suit, yeah, it's all the parralel blue stitching lines and the details that would be a decent amount of work, but... It'd be worth it to me!

Oh, you must make one! I love the clothes from that period. I'm sure it will be fun to make/wear. Have you seen "The Duchess" yet? If not, I have a feeling you'll *love* the costumes.

BTW, where does your icon come from? Its absolutely gorgeous!

Hi Aimee,

Ooo, thanks for the link to the Book of Impossible Things 8D! I saw it in Previews last month, and I couldn't decide if I wanted it or not. I think I tried ordering it, but we'll see if my store actually gets it or not =/.
