So I've been taking some suggestions on what Doctor Who images to draw next, since I'm trying to do some new art to take to Gallifrey One, and some people suggested I draw some of the earlier Doctors, so I started on that today. More later!

ALSO, I'm going to be doing a compilation B&W sketchbook of the Doctor Who images I've done. if you want one for sure (it'll be a couple bucks or so), please let me know, as I'm going to be doing a somewhat limited run. :) It'll be available before Gallifrey One.

Awesome! And you drew 1! Poor 1 hardly gets much attention...in fact, I'll admit I have a hard time watching the first Doctor shows even though they are what got me into Who way back when. ^_^;

He was the most normal of the Doctors so he has a hard time standing out. Doesn't help that a large part of his episodes have been lost forever so they will never be watched again. It is fun watching The Three Doctors where he meets his two incarnations and refers to them as a fop and a clown.

I'm slowly getting around to watching them, so far I've only seen clips of the other doctors, and only watched full episodes of Tom Baker. But I think I'll enjoy appreciating them for what they are as I see them. They each have something interesting. I think 1 has a very interesting facial structure, and I like that he's kindof refined.

If you want to get a good image for second Doctor reference then find him in his big wooly fur coat from his yeti adventure or the Five Doctors. He is pimping that coat. When did Baker ever have question marks on his coat though? I thought he disliked it that the fifth Doctor resorted to that motif?
I love the Pertwee sketch.

There is this one really fabulous photo of the Fourth with question marks on his collar, so I took it from that. ^_^ Sorry, I can't find it right now.

but send me the 2nd picture that you like. ^_^

Also a shot of the first three Doctors from The Five Doctors. Image (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v342/rashomonchb/?action=view&current=first3.jpg)

Itunes has a bunch of classic Doctor Who's for download. They are cheaper then buying the dvds. Stories that run four half hour episodes are $7.99 vs the dvd cost of $14.99-19.99. Grab Sun Makers and The Three Doctors if you want to try it out.

In 4's final series, John Nathan Turner took over as producer and made several controversial adjustments to the program and its direction. Some say he was responsible for the Colin Baker fiasco and just the nose dive of the McCoy era.

One of those changes was wardrobe. Tom got an all-burgundy outfit with a gigantic coat and a massive burgundy scarf and ? on his collar.

That is from the Traken episode then? I think that was part of the title. My brother has that one so I will have to go back and check it out. I remember that Tom Baker fought against the question marks, but I thought it was because of the following Doctor's wardrobe. I didn't know it was because of the producer. I don't mind the burgundy color scheme though it does miss the charm of the multi-color scarf.

Jon Pertwee! /Swoons. He is my favorite doctor because he is the MacGuyver of the Doctors and has a flying car/the original K9, yet he never gets any love. You are my new hero for drawing him. XD

My brother collects the dvds as they come out. There is one episode where Pertwee is working on something and he has his jacket off for once. Just his silk shirt on and apparently the guy was pretty buff for his age.

Hi Aimee,

AWESOME 8D! Again, don't forget to reserve one of those sketchbooks for ME!

I loved Jon Pertwee too and Tom Baker of course! Pertwee reminds me of my old adviser except my adviser dresses more downtrodden.
