"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me lay an invincible summer."
- Albert Camus.

I love that quote. You are not the victim of your circumstances...

I really feel like we have a choice over our attitude and worldview. You could be having a seriously crappy day, but if you force yourself to think about it in a more positive way, or to go enjoy staring at the clouds outside or something, you really can have a better day. In fact, you can make yourself have a great day.

I've come across a lot of people who have pretty good lives... but they are so negative all the time. So self-defeating. And it's not just that they are unhappy... they also miss out on potential greatness. It makes me feel really bad for them... but I almost feel ANGRY. Because they are wasting their life! I feel like in most cases, you have a choice whether to allow yourself to wallow in that grossness.

Someone mentioned kind-of sarcastically about my journal being "all hearts all the time" as if I'm being insincere or something? It kinda blows my mind that someone else's positivity would bother someone. But more to the point...
I know that I'm lucky, and I'm grateful, so I'm happy because I'm grateful.
But I also I work really hard to make my life. I get sad just like anyone else and have a crap day... I've had bad things happen to me.
but I really don't want to dwell on that, I go to my very close friends privately when I need to deal with that. I want to focus on the positive as much as possible.

I feel like I say it in small ways a lot, but I want to say it loud today! Life is so very very short. Think of the difference between you now and 5 years ago. Those years will never come back. What are you doing with your next years...?
Oh, please don't waste them doing something mindless, or even worse... waste them by coloring your perspective with negativity.
Today is precious, you have a choice.

To live is the rarest thing. Most people exist, that is all.
~ Oscar Wilde

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being "all hearts all the time". I try to be that way too. Life will often hand you lemons and it's entirely up to you what you do with them. Some of the best advice I've ever received came from a high school pastor who said, "If you think your life is bad and you start feeling sorry for yourself, go out and serve others. It'll put things in perspective really quickly."

Life can be sad and bad things do happen to good people, but dwelling on those losses and sorrows can make you ungrateful, mean-spirited, and no fun to be around. We have such a short time on this earth; why not make the most of it? Find your own happiness, bless and honor others, and be thankful for the bright joys you receive.

You know, you can always tell a Doctor Who fan by their world view ;) I admire and share yours.
