wanted to do something angsty and romantic with a ballgown, so drew my old Beauty and the Beast characters. I don't think I've really drawn them since 02.

Suggestions welcome! :)

Well I have to say I love seeing this! I love that you brought out your old characters, I remember seeing quite a lot of art of them on your site and it's nice to see you draw them again! It inspires me to want to draw Marie Antoinette dresses! I love how you drew this one here, and her face is very beautiful. I really like her eyes and I especially like your soft curved pencil lines. Great job!

awww, thankyou!! I think I'll always love these characters. I'd still like to do something finished with them at some point. I love Marie Antionette (and prior) period dresses, they're so magical!

Very nice, I like how he's supporting her from not falling over! It's interesting how you drew his hair flowing to match her dress XD

Great portrait of a book lover! We don't see enough of them in ball gowns, usually. Though I must say that you've done more than your share since you did the suitaby dressed, book-loving Madame de Pompadour just a few days ago.

well, was the original beauty a book lover? I'm not sure, that might have just been a disney thing. I can't remember right now. :)
but I love books and booklovers.

It isn't a Disney invention. The 18th century version (there are so many versions!) by madame Jeanne Marie Leprince de Beaumont has her spending most of her time reading, while her two older sisters mock her for this:

Elles allaient tous les jours au bal, à la comédie, à la promenade, et se moquaient de leur cadette, qui employait la plus grande partie de son temps à lire de bons livres.

ohhhh I loved your story (I even bought the comic book ^^) Very interesting point of view.
I wondered if you'd ever draw them again. Now I'm happy ^w^
