There's an interview with me up on comixology!

Oh, so... YEAY! Wendi Pini's going to be signing with me at the Kinokuniya booth at the LA Festival of Books! We're going to be dressed up all cute together. XD ( April 27th SUNDAY at 1:30-2:30 pm THIS COMING WEEKEND! )

I've been cleaning up, so I put away a lot of my winter kimono, too. Youta is helping:


I also went to kimono and tea ceremony class today. I got to wear my new Peony houmongi. I absolutely love the bright redish-pink, purple and blue accent colors on this kimono! The obi is one I got for like $20 used in Kyoto. AWESOME. The bow, again is fukura suzume (which I can remember now all by myself! YEAY!)
Also, tea ceremony was much easier to remember this time. I'm still really really beginner, but at least this time I didn't feel confusion at every step, so that's improvement!

I had a tea ceremony class in Tokyo and really want to take more, just not sure where. Is it okay ask you about where you take yours? And do they have just the ceremony classes or are the kimono classes combined? I know I should probably check around Torrance maybe, just not sure where to start.

Have fun at the Festival of Books! It's a great event, lots of people attend.

well, are you within driving distance of Little Tokyo in LA? Lately, that's where I've been taking classes. Usually we dress up in kimono first, try a couple things... and then we have tea ceremony classes.

if you live in Torrance and need something closer, I would highly recommend going to Kyoei Treasures on Crenshaw and asking them for a recommendation for kimono OR tea ceremony class. That's how I found my teacher to begin with. the ladies there are wonderful. :) (or you can call them)

I love the ladies at Kyoei Treasures, they are so helpful with getting the right things! I will have to see if they might know of something.

I'd love to do kimono classes also, but I'm afraid I might be a bit intimidated by them XD So far I've stuck with simple yukata outfits.
