my day off (huntington, kitsuke)
Jul. 24th, 2007 09:27 pm
I got an unexpected day off work today, so I decided to practice kitsuke and go to Huntington Galleries and Gardens ( http://www.huntington.org/ ). I wish it wasn't 94 degrees today, but I still had fun! I took my moleskin with me and did some sketches... and took some photos.
I really really needed this day!!
Today I wore one of the kimono that ichiroya made from a bolt I picked out. It may actually be a tiny bit too big for me! (haha, a good problem to have, in my case!). I love tiny blue specks in the pattern on the komon, so I wanted to bring that out with the obi. Somehow the bunny obidome seemed cute with it.
My outfit for today:

some sketches

Some random photos around the gardens:

Baby KOI!! :D

not so baby koi:

Baby ducks!

lastly, there was this old mirror in the galleries... I had to take a picture in it! There was something kinda awesome and creepy about it. the glass in it is old and has speckles in it.
(don't worry I was careful not to use my flash to damage it.)
