Always happens when I go to this one shabu-shabu place:

and on a completely different note, some fave outfits, etc, from the recent Cutie magazine.
I obviously need to commission a knitter or something to make a loose open-work sweater. so CUTE. I also like that crazy twisty knitted (or is it crochet?) scarf. I'm not a fan of the multi-colored bag-lady-esque shawl, but I like the off-white lace skirt over jeans with big brown belt. (isn't that green eyeshadow scary? but I like the idea of the outfit)

You find the cutest fashions! I love this look! You're right about the shawl. I mean, I like granny squares OK but that's a bit loud...especially over the muted colors of the rest of the outfit.

You might check Etsy for sweater-ish/shrug-ish sorts of things.

Noodle cartoon = hilarious. Ayame = hotness. *love*

I've been looking for a magazine like this one. I'm knitting things for my BJDs, not myself. ^__^

The trouble with Japanese pop street fashion is that it's made for tiny girls with barely any curves.
Us wider curvier western girls need to be wary of just copying it, instead taking elements we like (patterns, colours, concepts) and try to modify it to fit our shape. Emphasise the waist instead of layering over it, stuff like that.
