I made my first official attempt at sashiko! (yes, yes, I know I don't need another hobby/craft.) However, this is easy and fun! :) the thickness of the thread and the look of the white on the indigo is very pleasing. I seriously doubt I will be drafting my own marks anytime soon, but I am willing to stitch up pre-marked fabric and use stencils.
this is going to be a tote-bag when I'm done (to put my sashiko in. haha.)

Date: 2007-05-20 01:28 am (UTC)but I also want to put small sachiko motifs on my tshirts and skirts. :) This way I can get a cheap tshirt that feels nice, and just add something that I like on the side without having to spend so much time on full embroidery.
knitting ---
that's what I was thinking too, that it would be like my version of knitting, because all I need is the needle, thread and fabric. It doesn't require an embroidery hoop or anything like that.
I really enjoy the linear nature of this too. :)
