I went into a shoe store that I hadn't tried in a while to see if they had red shoes in my size. They of course, didn't, however, I got to watch a mother and daughter trying on shoes while I waited.

They were both trying on the same pair of shoes. Their bodies were obscured by a pole.

So... I was thinking that it might be possible to incorporate haori (short kimono jacket) into my regular casual wardrobe, much in the same way that I've seen people wear shirt-dresses open (layered over other things).... hopefully without looking like a bag lady.

When I worked at the museum and even now, I like to wear vintage haori or michiyuki over a turtleneck and a skirt or pants. It's a look that can seem professional, but still individual. I never thought that I looked dumpy or like a bag lady and you being taller, the look will be even more elegant.
