Evanescence

wow, I'm so grateful that Evanescence just released another album! I was afraid for a while that they wouldn't do anymore, and I really like this style of music. The orchestration and the singing style with heavy guitar = love. Totally helped me work long hours this week. Any other groups I might like? (don't say nightwish or My Chemical Romance.)

... must finish... ... send good juju my way. this next week will be the worst.

(despite all this... my japan sketchbook is going well. I'm debating starting to post teaser pictures... but would that spoil it?)

if you've emailed me and I haven't responded; most likely it's because I'm INSANE right now. I have so much work to do I'm not capable to deal with anything substantial otherwise.

You might want to check into Lacuna Coil. They sound a lot like Evanescence.

Eerm, maybe you'd like 30 Seconds to Mars? Jared Leto has a cute button nose~! I think you can listen to "The Kill" (my favorite on their newest album) at artistdirect.com or see the video of it, and see if you might like them.

lacuna coil, within temptation. those (and yes, nightwish) all pwn evanescence hard, you can't even compare it.. definitely check them out.

I also really enjoy ES Posthumous ( http://www.esposthumous.com )...they're probably not exactly exactly what you look for in Evanescence, but they're definitely in the realm of what I call 'Symphonic Rock.'
