Another Housewife Dress

I made this dress from this Decades of Style 50's Diamond Dress pattern. My favorite part of the dress is the deep inset pockets at the waist. (The long zip front is pretty great, too.) I made it out of some Japanese chidori (plover) cotton fabric I'd been hoarding for a looooong time. I just BARELY had enough fabric to make the dress (like seriously, did not have an extra inch. KISMET.) I love chidori as a motif. It's usually seen as a late summer thing, so, very fitting right now, right?

Super super SUPER cute!!! I wish I knew how to make dresses. Would you ever take orders for making a dress like this? (I can understand the Victorian and cosplay being IMPOSSIBLE, rofl. I only mean dresses like -this-.). I just love this vintage design, and it has a good length!!! I can't find this stuff in the cornfields of Indiana, and when I find something similar on Modcloth, its either WWAAYY to short or overpriced. Just a question of curiosity, no pressure intended! X3

What a perfect dress in every way! The fabric, the cut and the fit! Love the shoes with it too! I have some vintage "housewife" dress patterns I've been meaning to make for years and I'm going to keep looking at your post to inspire me to finally get around to them.
