Michelle, Annie and I went to Huntington yesterday to have a slow relaxing time looking at flowers. I -had- to go this weekend, because I didn't want to miss the plum blossoms! (Prunus Mume, flowering apricot)
It was fun going through Huntington's rose garden and reading all the tags. I hadn't been for at least 7 months or so, and the last time I went, I loved the roses, but couldn't really give a crap about the names or types. This time I was all "THIS ROSE IS IN MY YARD." or "I know this rose!" "I WANT THIS ROSE". :) It was fun. The roses aren't in full bloom, but there were a lot of lovely ones anyway.

Really interesting rose called "Eliane Gillet", the buds/outer petals were deep red, but the flower itself was white.

an overgrown Mermaid rose. :)

Chinese Magnolia. Only one tree was really, really in bloom, but they'll probably be in full bloom within a week or so.
