I'm trying to do much better about spending for the rest of the year. I love this simple Innocent World JSK though (been staring at it for months...) and I would totally wear it as a "normal" dress. And it's on sale. :( I based This dress on it... and I love this pale pink KidsYOYO coat... but it's rarely ever wintery here. (it's 65 degrees F today.)
SO ... I don't need the IW dress or another winter coat, right? RIGHT?

I need to sell some stuff regardless. On the cutting list:
my sunlight Super Dollfie 13 boy, some of my Momoko 1/6,
some size 11 lolita shoes, AP Macaron skirt in black, my hot pink BABY snow dot ribbon JSK, pink BABY usakumya furry headdress, my handmade AP white replica JSK, my handmade cupcake skirt, my handmade alice pink fabric skirt, my pink Utena costume, my Miwako costume,

anyway, here's my Madame de Pompadour fabric and flounce lace:

Thanks Jean! Callie wants the skirt, too, how do you guys want to duke it out? it's probably about 20-21 inches long, if I remember right and is about 32 inch waist measurement.

she said you could have it, so.... do you want it? lol.

Would you be willing to pay $70? I'm not sure what to charge *__* I want to make myself another one, but this one is a little too short for me, so I need to replace the fabric. Let me know what you think.

Oh, that fabric is so gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing you all fancied up in the final costume!

(Plus, reading about new coats just made me... buy a new coat. LOL. In my defense, it is like 45 degrees here and it was 35 yesterday.)

Gorgeous lace!

Here's a question you may know the answer to-where can one buy a clothing mannequin (sp?) on the cheap? One of the sewing ones, not the creepy plastic store kind... XD

Ooo, which Momoko are going? Seems like a lot of people are ditching her lately.

I live in eternal hope someone will have Mama Told Me -- why oh WHY did I waffle over buying her? That's kind of the fear of being "good"... most dresses/dolls, okay, once the urge passes, you're glad you didn't splurge. But there's always that one that haunts you. XD

From: [identity profile] aimeekitty.livejournal.com
awww,... maybe I can make you really happy then? Because Mama Told Me was one of the ones I was going to sell. I don't know what she goes for or even what I paid for her, but if you offer me a fair price, you can have her. I don't think I've taken her out of the box at all.

I still love Momoko,... but I'm just trying to cut back.

I'm probably also selling Sweet Poodle ( http://aimeemajor.com/dolls/sweet.html )

(if you're morbidly curious, I'm keeping Antique Dreaming, Snow White and Love Yukata and my Shimotsuma Monogatari MameMomos)

PMed you! Although I wasn't very cohesive -- I always worry about making people happy so I'm really hesitant.

I have Sweet Poodle; she's so cute! I'm surprised you're thinking of that one... she has, imho, the best outfit eveeeeeeer. My Blastmilk Pullip promptly stole it from her. XD

Oooo, those are all gorgeous! I've thought about Antique Dreaming a lot, but I'll probably track down the pinky Goodnight, Cherry, which has a similar dreamy sort of look. The Mame Momokos are so funny -- as elegant as the big ones are, they're so... not. Hee.

thanks! pmd you back!

I love Sweet Poodle,... but I feel like if I want to redress them, that the other three I have suit that fine,... and I have a lot of pretty lolita stuff for my Super Dollfie and myself, so... I just feel like I'd be fine without her. She really does have a super cute outfit though, but I can't have everything. :)
I probably should go through my 1/6 box of clothes, too... but usually that stuff is hard to sell, so I don't know if it's worth photographing and taking the time.

Goodnight, Cherry is cute!

From: [identity profile] mmymoon.livejournal.com
Oh yeah, that's true -- there's a LOT of gorgeous SD-scale lolita stuff. I totally have contemplated getting a 60cm girl just for the outfits. (Well, and I've always wanted a Nono for quirky styles, and Megu for melancholy ones. But it's just a bit too BIG of a scale for me -- my 43cms are pushing it, and I only have two. So I just swoon over my friends' four sisters.)

Good 1/6th lolita is pretty hard to find... I have a good collection of Azone and some other stuff, but I forgot how much easier SD stuff is.

I have a TON of extra 1/6th clothes, but yeah, in my opinion, not worth the hassle. O_o

She is! I can't decide if I want the brown or the pinky, as they're both cute -- having both would seem a little redundant. Although most of my dollies are pretty redundant.

It's typical Angelic Pretty sizing, I can fit into it with a 31 inch waist, but it's tight.
length: 50 cm
waist: 62-71 cm

I'd sell it with the matching headbow:
http://aimeemajor.com/gothloli/macaronbow.jpg

$230 for the set? That's basically retail or a little lower.

I'll probably eventually be selling this dress, too, I just have too many similar ones.

The Pompadour stuff reminds me... can I pick your brain about making a gown like that sometime? I need to figure out what I'd be in for. ^^;

(no subject)

Date: 2010-01-14 10:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] aimeekitty.livejournal.com
sure! It's not really that hard though, and not all that time consuming. The trimmings and scalloping are what take longer. so this gown wont take as long as Lia, because no trim really...

I'd say it takes about two weekends to make a dress. The pattern is a little confusing (JP RYAN) but you can figure it out.

But, you know, it requires making the stays, pockethoops, etc, too. But now that I already have those...

Date: 2010-01-14 10:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] singingraisin.livejournal.com
What would you estimate for making the stays and pockethoops and various other undergarments? I've not done stuff like that before.

(I'm essentially looking to do this dress so I know I'll have to devote a lot of time to the trim and stuff... Oh, this will be a project.)

(no subject)

Date: 2010-01-14 10:58 pm (UTC)

the stays take a while, the pockethoops do not.

I'd say give your self a weekend or two just for the stays. the hoops only take maybe a day.

I love the color and details of the hot pink dress, but I feel like it's too short on me,.. and I wish the bodice was bigger. It fits me across, you know...? but I can't really wear it without a jacket because my boobs are too big. lol.
I'd like to get my money back, basically, I can't remember how much the JSK costs? aren't they usually around $250??

the bear headdress was about 5100 yen, so... I dunno $55?

I'd need to go unpack her, but what I would be selling, i think, is the dress and the wrist cuffs.

The measurements are probably whatever mine are, which is roughly 38 inch bust and 31 inch waist, free hips.

um... I dunno, $70? Willing to negotiate.
