I decided to take a break today and go to Huntington Gardens. :)
The plums, camelia and chinese magnolia were blooming today. So beautiful.

I just layed down on the grass and read for a while under the plum blossoms.
I will be very sad if we ever have to move out of driving range of Huntington. That place fills me with so much peace!

I love camelias. My grandmother always had huge bushes of them in her backyard.

a few chinese magnolia. I wish I had time to do some brush painting! Maybe I will later this month. I love painting magnolias.

YEAY PLUMS!

and, lastly, a couple of my favorite doll photos from today:

Soo lovely! It is still the middle of winter here, everything is dead and gray, and there's very, very little snow. The photos make me long for springtime. And I love love love the doll photos, those are book covers, right there. Did you end up getting a new digital camera?

yeah things bloom and most of the year it's more temporate than most parts of the world, I guess. (of course the summers are aweful, but yeah.) :)

thanks so much! I still havent decided about a camera yet, this is my old one. :)

I do love having distinct seasons, but times of year like now when it's gross out, I don't treasure it as much. ;)

The old camera still takes beautiful pictures!

honestly, I'm really happy with this camera. I just wish it was higher resolution, not quite so heavy, and took a little better photos in lower light. :)

Thank you so much for the lovely pictures! They've encouraged me to brave brush painting again! Would you mind if I used some of your pictures as reference? They're so lovely!

And I think the camera you have is doing a very good job. If these pictures get any lovelier, I might pass out from overdosing on loveliness.

that's fine! please send me pictures! :)

It's just a regular canon A95, it's a nice camera but it's not pricey or anything. :)

enjoy!

What gorgeous flowers! Ahhh I want to try to go back to Huntington now!

And your dolly is so pretty - she looks exactly like that actress who played young Antoinette in Takarazuka :)

Quite lovely!! I miss going to the Huntington. I use to live in Arcadia and go there often, and other places around town. Great light for photos today. Nice and soft!

Beautiful!!!

Oh, I wish there was someplace like that near me . . . I love the National Arboretum, but it's a bit hard to get to and not in the best area.

These pictures are a wonderful break in the middle of winter ^_^
