Santa Claus the Movie

Tokyo Godfathers? My family would be okay with it, I don't know if that's okay with everyone's family tho.

My faves are pretty much standards...

White Christmas
Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
A Christmas Story

These are the ones I'll make some attempt to watch each year even though we don't really 'do' Xmas. ^_^;

I vaguely remember watching the Muppets and Disney versions of A Christmas Carol when I was little.

The Buffy Christmas special is also worth finding.

White Christmas (Bing Crosby) and Muppet Family Christmas (though the original TV cut is better -- the DVD has been edited because of music rights).

I also like Scrooged, which IIRC is pretty clean, but couldn't swear to it 100%.

Miracle on 34th street (Old black and white version) and It's a Wonderful Life. All the stop-motion goodies, The Year without a Santa Claus, Santa Claus is coming to town, Rudolph, Jack Frost, and my personal favorite (though i'm not sure you can get it on DVD at all, sadly) The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.

Love Actually is glorious, does have a bit of nudity in it though?

Holiday Inn is pretty neat to watch, definately a classic film.

I actually find While You Were Sleeping really sweet as well. :3

Second on It's A Wonderful Life, and if the movie doesn't have to be specifically a CHRISTMAS movie, Meet The Robinsons has a good, family-centric theme.

A Christmas Carol. Both the Alistair Sim and George C. Scott versions have their merits. I call it a draw. If you want a musical, "Scrooge" with Albert Finney is actually pretty good.

Home Alone (1990) with Macaulay Culkin
A Christmas Story (1983)
Jingle All the Way (1996) Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sinbad, Phil Hartman

One of my favorite MGM musical classics...
Meet Me in St. Louis (1945) (musical)
Judy Garland and Margret O'Brien. While not a Christmas themed movie some great Christmas scenes in it. Judy Garland sings, have yourself a Very Merry Christmas.

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol (1962)Tv musical (great score)

Joyeux Noel, really awesome movie about the Christmas Truce in WWI, probably one of my favorite movies. Its subtitled, since its in French, German, and English (and you need the subtitles for the english too since they are Scottish :P )

Diane Kruger sings very nicely and has great outfits also!

Jingle All The Way, with Arnold Schwartzengeer is always a classic at my house! :) Very funny and family-oriented!

Christmas Vacation, with Chevvy Chase, kinda cruder, but funny, and reminds people of all the pains of the holidays in a funny kind of way.

White Christmas, Bing Crosby, always a classic!

He ended up liking it although he's still not sure about the okama character.

we have two Christmas traditions:
Love Actually - this if my absolute favourite Christmas film!! It is a must ...although I would say not entirly family friendly if there are young ones or sensitive elders around.

Will Vinton's Claymation Christmas Special - I watched this every year on TV as a kid. When I found it was on DVD was one of the happiest Christmas' ever!! How can you not love beauty of Joy to the World or the California Raisins signing Rudolph!
