(Scroll down).... For all you guys who have SNOW. <3

I reached all new levels of laziness with this one, in that I didn't even draw it with graphite or any ink before scanning it. So the line art actually looks like this, (below) I just changed it to BW lines, punched up the contrast, and put it on multipy over my color layer. It makes for a messier and softer line, but that's ok.

Date: 2009-12-07 12:53 pm (UTC)I love your drawings that have more refined linework, don't get me wrong, but this has a lot of charm and I'd actually love to see you do more work with this technique -- it brings out the spontaneity of the sketch, and doesn't lose any of that freshness in the finalizing work (as so often happens when a sketch is penciled & inked & colored.)
I love both, but this is nifty!! (Also, the shading on her face is beautiful, and UNF, those blues on the snow!)
*GLEEEEEEE!*

Date: 2009-12-07 12:56 pm (UTC)This is very lovely! Snow is supposed to be soft and indistinct, and it tends to lend to landscapes that are such as well, so I think your "laziness" actually worked to your advantage on this one.
