Futurama Table Read and the Fox Lot

Working for Warner Bros and Fox over the years I've gotten to see a couple of the backlots and sets. I always think they're charming. Here's a couple from FOX today. (I only go down to the FOX lot for table reads and screenings...)

I can't tell you anything about anything, of course... but the Futurama table read for my next episode was GREAT. It's SO FUNNY. I can't wait to start drawing it and already have my eye on a couple sequences. I can't wait for the episodes to start airing so I can see ya'll's reactions.

Most of the buildings are just fronts, or just bottom rooms. So they look very amusing from the back or sides:

I'm a dork, but every time I see Nakatomi Plaza Fox Plaza I squee inside. Amusingly, I bought the Die Hard Blue Ray set today at the Fox lot store.

One semester, when I was interning in Santa Monica, I had to drive to class each week down Olympic, which is a straight line to the Nakatomi building. So each week, I'd spend the whole drive thinking "Terrorists have seized the Nakatomi building and they're holding 30 or more hostages!" and "I'm at Nakatomi Plaza! They're turning my car into Swiss cheese! I need backup, now! Now, goddammit, NOW!" over and over again.

The FOX lot is rad, even though it used to have the "this is lame" sort of feel to it for me because for the past two years, we've had a joint company party with the rest of the FOX peeps there. Outdoors...in December. With not particularly cold beer.

I also love Nakatomi Plaza. I had a meeting in there once and was excited about it aaaaall day.

I can't wait to see these Futurama episodes! I know you can't say much, but when you say the scripts sound good and funny, that makes me happy! :D You'll post when you hear air dates right??

I love going on the lots too. My big thrill was going to Jeopardy and having them walk us through the entire Sony Lot (which will ALWAYS be MGM to me!) Best "tour" I've ever had. Also, we were walked through a lot of the Fox lot when going to see another show filmed.
