PMX photos, Fashion Show Videos, etc
Nov. 10th, 2009 11:08 amBefore I start talking about foufy fashion and PMX,...

Everyone really worked hard on having cute thoughtout outfits for the Angelic Pretty Tea Party on Saturday. Overall, the tea party went really well. They talked about their design inspiration for some of the most popular prints and then we played bingo with those prints. I really liked hearing about some of their design inspirations, very adorable.
My apologies, I didn't really take that many photos,... but some of my friends did, so I'll post more photos later after they do. :)
SIDENOTE, if you'd like to see more girls' outfits from the teaparty (I didn't take that many photos...) then try this EGL POST

Here's some I remembered them saying about their print inspiration: (SCROLL DOWN IF YOU DON'T CARE <3 ):
Toy Parade: They thought about what it would be like inside a toy box at night when the toys come to life. The bunny in it debuted in this print but later ended up in lots of other prints, and they even made a stuffed animal bag of the bunny, too.
Strawberry Millefeuille ad was Maiki's first modeling for AP.
Magical Etoile was inspired by a traveling circus in Paris.
Sweets Country was the first print drawn by hand. She said she drew it by hand to give it a storybook look. Maki says she wants to live there (in the sweets castle).
Dreaming Macaron was inspired by macarons in Paris when they visited.
Fruits Parlor, they wanted a happy summer look.
Whip Magic, they were inspired by cupcakes in Los Angeles that had "shocking pink" icing. (Asuka pretty much said "shocking pink" in English, which was cute.) Also neon green, etc, etc... they thought it was very cute and would be interesting to use different colors in lolita.
Royal Poodle, they wanted a more classic elegant style, but still very cute.
Wonder Party, they were going for an Alice Tea Party feel. Maki said that even the teacups look like cupcakes.
Miracle Candy, they were inspired by American candies, of the kind that they don't see often in Japan.
Sugary Carnival, Maki really wanted to make marshmellow swirl polls for the merry-go-round. (Kammie says that they confirmed that it was inspired by cass!)
Melty Chocolate, Maki wanted the dress to look like a fancy box of chocolates, so the bows on the dress are supposed to mimic the decoration of a box.
Rose Toilette, they want you to smell a sweet rose perfume when you wear it.
Lady Rose, a more refined classical look which is kindof "different" for Angelic Pretty.
Sweet Jam, they were inspired by a cute jar of jam in Paris which had a fabric cover on it, so the top part of the dress is supposed to look like the jar lid. The dot print is a custom one for AP.
Starry Night Theater - They wanted to show more of the dark side of the circus, but still cute. Maki says the girl in the print is Asuka.
Deery (Milky the fawn) - They did a brown, which isn't done in lolita very much, and they wanted it to be very cute for fall and winter. Maki really recommends the brown and pink colorway and likes how the colors compliment each other. Asuka says that one of the deer looks a lot like Maki.
Memorial cake - Maki was inspired by anniversaries and weddings and wanted to do cakes based on that. She said when she and Asuka were wearing the dresses in Paris, people came up to them and asked if they were going to a wedding, which she thought was cute. If you look hard on the print you can find an engagement ring.
Strawberry Ribbon - they remarked on how this was one of the first bright yellow dresses in lolita, and after that they thought how well it did and did more dresses in that color.
(according to Kammie) the yellow mouse in the new print (unreleased, but shown in the fashion show) is Maki's toy mouse whose name is Judy

Only trouble was, I ate some cereal at like 7:30 am, and then all I had until 6 pm that day was this cake:

I won some pink hairties (something I actually use a lot!) and for gift bags on the way out I got a box of 2 macrons (yay!), a Royal Poodle tote (I love that print!) and a cute photo album! Danielle gave me an adorable house warming present of paris hello kitty towels! XD

So, on a sidenote, cluelesscase was wearing white Milky the fawn JSK on Friday, and we were co-griping about tall-loli problems and so I scoped out her dress. Usually if something fits her well, it will fit me well, too, as we're about the same height... so I went in to the boutique and tried on Milky the fawn (in black),... shockingly, not only did it fit, but it fit COMFORTABLY. All I had to do was halter the straps and it really wasn't too short at all and fit the bust very comfortably. SCORE. So I wore it the next day to the teaparty instead of my previous plans.

Jocelyn and Nicole fulfilled my desires for purikura! I meant to do it again with Danielle and Tara but we ended up running around.

Harajuku Hearts in the dealer's room had some really cute stuff,... they had lots of Metamorphose stuff,... best of all for me, several over-the-knee print socks that actually fit me! (so I bought two colorways!) They also had putumayo and some Paris Kids' jewelry! My favorite was this adorable Cinderella necklace. There were dealers selling Hangry and Angry clothing and j-mags and a dealer that had really cute squishable fake bread. OH MAN. SO CHARMING. SQUISHY BREAD!! (spot some cute cupcake rings from mintymix, too!) The same dealer that had squishy faux bread also had cute Little Red Riding hood tea cups... the cups were too small for me, but I really liked the design. (Nicole bought some!) The brand was decolella otogicco,... or something like that. You can see some of their stuff here

Sunday:

Remotely funny story,.. after I got home from PMX, Mitch and I went to the Gap, JCP and Fridays... and I left this outfit on, just let my hair down and wore flats (and no knee-high socks) and pretty much every girl that I came in contact with at the mall complimented me on my dress and I didn't get any of the "are you a maid?" stares. SUCCESS!
