Charleston and Sakura Trees

I'm off on a plane to Charleston, South Carolina to see my family! (I'll be back in a week.) I'll have limited email access but lots of access to fried chicken. See you on the other side!

completely unrelated,... I am SO getting a sakura tree for my new place. (potential nurseries: hashimoto and san gabriel) I'm getting all weepy just thinking about it. Hopefully I won't kill it. lol.
(also going to get some old fashioned roses)

Aww! I have terrible timing. I'm not visiting my Dad in SC 'til the 31st. XD

And I just convinced the family to get a cherry blossom tree for our yard (They were going to get a pear tree or something else flowery). Just planted it yesterday. I'm so excited! If we can have them here in TN red clay dirt, I'm sure you'll have lots of luck with one out in Cali! :D

I've wanted to plant a sakura tree in either our front or back yard for the LONGEST.TIME....but since I'm almost 25 and will be moving out this year there's no point till I find a place I'll be settling in for a long long time.

i am definately going to buy your manga,it looks awsome.plus i have read dramacon and have all three volunes so if you are recomended by svetlana then thats good enough for me!i didnt know so many famous people used this site,only yesterday i found that tamora pierce the auther has a journal on this website!!anyway,i want to cosplay at a convention i will be going to in a month,but i have not a clue who to go as!!it will be my first time so i was wondering if you could sugest something relatively easy to cosplay that looks either cute or has a lot of things on it that fly in the breeze and looks cool or something that looks awesome as in lolita or fun to wear.please help!!

as to cosplay, I would pick something you really love. maybe go through your favorite anime characters and try to find one that doesn't look too hard? the easiest things are to do things that are mostly "normal" clothes. Like if there's a skuld from AMG outfit that is mostly a tshirt and jeans...? then you could just buy some wings maybe..? then you dont have to make much at all, right?

or pick something that isn't too close fitting or complicated if you haven't sewn much before and you want to sew something. A lot of sewing stores like joanns have sewing classes, too. :)

with lolita, it's completely up to your personal taste whether you like sweet or gothic things, etc. just look around and save things you like, and then gradually decide. :)

I'm working on a "how to cosplay" / "cosplay funny comic" type book right now, but it wont be done till next year, so hopefully you'll pick it up when it comes out, it seems like it's right up your alley!

omg!you have read my mind!!i love skuld from oh!my goddess,i think she is awesome!!i am definately getting that cosplay book when it comes out,because when you live in australia like i do,there arent that many people around who can help you and most bookstores have never even heard of cosplaying let alone have a book on it.i was looking at cosplaying as skuld but i thought her signature red and white with hammer outfit was a leeeetle too hard for my first go.i am making a dragonball z goku training uniform for my brother,because thats relatively easy to make.

aaaarrgghh!!!i just remembered skuld has long black hair and i havent got a wig or anything!!i have short brown hair!so i cant go as skuld.maybe akane from ranma 1/2,what sort of costume would people recogise is akane that isnt her school outfit?suggestions please !!beg beg.

you could always get a wig, especially if you wanted to do another skuld outfit later.

Sorry, I dont remember akane well enough. maybe search cosplay.com for akane costumes? that might give you an idea of what you see as recognizable.

hmm,i have had a think about it and i might go as a catgirl.i have the ears and a chinese outfit so i just have to make the tail.have you heard of any manga or anime chinese catgirls?

well, there is always Shampoo from Ranma 1/2 (she is a white cat and wears chinese clothes.)

Other than that, Loveless has some catboys and catgirls.... and I'm sure there must be lots of other ones.

i have got it!!
my brother and i have decided to go as soul reapers ichigo and rukia from bleach.we have read the first five volumes and i will post a picture of us on my live journal when i have finished them.
