Just a note! if you go see the Pink Panther 2, my friends and I animated the opening animated credits! It was REALLY fun to animate. We worked hard to try and do it justice, considering how cool all the previous credits to Pink Panther have been. ( I can't speak to the rest of the film itself, I haven't seen it.)

-------------------

Reminder, I'll be a guest at the Gallifrey One - DOCTOR WHO convention this coming weekend! I'll have some original art (like this one, the ones above and several new pieces) for sale, be doing something very very silly in the masquerade, be giving an art demonstration and I'll be helping out with several costuming panels.

GALLIFREY ONE SCHEDULE----

SATURDAY:
I'll be going as Rose Tyler and my husband will be the Tenth Doctor for most of the day until Masquerade. Look for me in something SPARKLY at the masquerade.

10 am - P3
- Getting Started With Cosplay PANEL

2pm - P4
- Doctor Who & Torchwood Costuming PANEL

8 pm
- performing in the Masquerade (he he he)

SUNDAY:
I'll be wearing my masquerade costume in the morning and my husband will be wearing Captain Jack Harkness. After that I'll be changing into Mme. Cardea for the afternoon and remainder of the con.

11 am - P2
- Anime 101: A GoComi! PANEL

12 pm - Go!Comi BOOTH
- Doctor Who art demonstration
AUTOGRAPH session immediately following (time slightly flexible.)

4 pm - P2
- Advanced Costuming Techniques & Tips PANEL

I'm unsure whether I'll be attending on Friday (due to work obligations). Other than the stated panels I'm on, I'll be exploring the convention and generally dorking out. Please say hi!

I'm sure you and your hubby will be quite the sensation as Rose & The Doctor. You both look very good and your Time Lady (?) costume is really cool. But I still think you should come up with a Gwen Cooper outfit to go with your husband's Jack! :D

Shiny party

Oh... you're in the Masquerade... okay.

Scenario #1, assuming you're staying in the hotel on the second floor: Would you like to have a "Shiny Party" in your room, and have it open as soon as the Masquerade awards are presented and you get back upstairs to it?

Scenario #2: Is there anyone else out there in Aimee-land who's staying in the hotel on the second floor for Gallifrey One, and who would like to have a "Shiny Party" in their room, please? I'll take charge of shopping for the food, prepping the room, cleaning up things afterward... (I can't offer up my own room, because [livejournal.com profile] library_lynn goes to sleep at 10 pm.)

I would also ask for help with decorations, and for ideas on what to serve -- I've got half a dozen crockpots, and a generic "things to serve at a party" list, but I'm stumped as to what would fit the theme of "Shiny Party" apart from, maybe, a whole bunch of shiny fried foods...

I'm not staying at the hotel because I live so close.
(do they still have hotel rooms available, even?)

I'll check, but I wonder if asking on the dw_cosplay com might be a good idea?

Good idea, go for it -- they won't know me if I pop up and ask.

Oh - what if we ask the Con Suite people if we can take it over Saturday night for a "Shiny Party"?

why don't you ask the con suite people and I'll ask the comm if that doesn't work out. I don't know how much I can help with this though, I have a lot of commitments.

Can you be hostess -- stand around in the party looking like you want everyone to have a good time?

You've got a shiny dress to wear. That's a start. I don't have anything appropriate, I'll just try to fade in the background somehow.

Let me think about it, I'm not sure how late I can stay.
I wouldn't be wearing that dress, I'd be wearing my masquerade costume. ^_^ (which is shiny)

Shiny is as shiny does. A shiny masquerade costume would work just fine. If you can stick it out to midnight, that would be good enough, I think.

(Here from dw_cosplay, but that's completely unrelated to this post...)

I was wondering if they were going to have an animated intro to the Pink Panther movie! We watched the animation for the Return of the Pink Panther in my first year at Sheridan to study the walk-cycles, and it was incredible.

Richard Williams is a crazy walk-cycle guy. O___O

YAY!!! I'm so glad to hear the Pink Panther's credits are animated. In the last one they toyed with the idea of of doing em CG but at the last minute they went traditional. I was worried this time that they'd go cg for sure. I'm glad to hear they didn't. YAY!

I flipped through Paul's copy of your sketchbook Sunday night and am DYING to get my own. It's utterly brilliant! I can't believe I missed them completely in the dealer's room. But I only went in there twice all week-end, once with Peter's son Sam and once with javi. Skint as I am, that seemed safest. Yet I still got River Song's sonic, and the journal of impossible things. I see a lot of oatmeal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in my immediate future...
