Oh man! I love these stays so far! I really like the fabric! (the ground color is a bit more of a wedgewood blue in person.) I'm about 3/4 done with my pocket hoops, too. Unfortunately I can't go any farther until I get my bones and reeds, though. Slight oversight on my part. *_* I might have to wait till Wed to get them! (AKALJLK) I'll probably pop by farthingales.

GORGEOUS! I've got some historical corset patterns I really want to try, but I'm such a wuss about boning. Can't wait to see this completed!

Wow, gorgeous! I adore that fabric too! Which pattern are you using?

For bones for mine, I actually used those plastic zip ties - alot of people have used them with good success. And they are cheap and readily available at the hardware store. :-)

Wow that's a very pretty pattern. Creating a corset sounds complicated.

It's not too bad! It's not nearly as scary as it looks, its just a bit tedious. :)

I've been wanting to do the JP Ryan pattern! Thought I keep telling myself I don't need 3 pairs of 18th century stays. XD
I love the fabric you used! Are you doing a historical costume or is this for a another project? ^_^

Ahhh! My stays were historical and other as well. =3 I have a hopeless addiction to sewing corsets and underpinnings. So I tend to make them whenever I get the chance. XD

My first pair was from a Mccalls pattern:
Toile Corset
Here they are with matching Pannier:
French Underpinnings

My newest pair I drafted from the Diederot Pattern in Corsets and Crinolines. ^_^ The raspberry fabric I had left over from a Yuuko costume, I gave it green trim to make it all out raspberry flavored.
18th Century Stays de Framboise COMPLETE!!
I decided to be a bit crazy on these and hand bound the eyelets. I also went for spiral lacing
Stays de Framboise (Spiral Lacing Close-up)
In hindsight I should have interfaced my silk, but I wanted it to be breathable in Hotlanta Atlanta.

Can't wait to see your finished projects!

oh gorgeous! I love both color combinations! Don't you find it so appealing to think of color combinations with the binding and the fashion fabric? Even though most of the time no one will ever see them.

your pocket hoops are really pretty too! I'm just making mine out of some left over white fabric. *_*

but next month there is a rococo event... I think I may try to build a silly outfit with my new stays showing. :D

That looks really good! The pattern on the fabric is really aristocrat-looking. Very elegant :D

Oh my, that's beautiful! I absolutely love the color and design on the fabric. (Can I venture a dumb question and ask what you'll be using this for...?)
