man, I haven't sketched on a wacom in years! I did this quickie of the Doctor on the cintiq at work to try to get warmed up. I like that the back of the pen/stylus has an eraser. I wish I could figure out how to change the smoothness of the eraser though. hmm....

In other news, I found Rose's jacket from "The Idiot's Lantern" episode for sale and won it! HURRAY! Now my Rose costume will be more accurate! (She wears clothes from various UK clothing brands, this is one of them...)
I'm having a lot of fun with this. It's really amusing to have a piece of "normal" (if a bit trendy) clothing, which I can wear everyday... but reminds me of happy things since it was actually worn on a show I like.

So do you mean you bought the actual show costume, the exact coat Billie Piper wore? o_O

And I think that's your best likeness of the Doctor yet!

Good likeness on the Doctor there!

That jacket is uber-cute. :) Gonna post more pics now that your ensemble is ever-closer to perfect?

oh no, they buy clothes from various places for a lot of Rose's clothes. I found out what brand the jacket was and have been watching for it, so I bought one!

and thankyou!

I have to say, you and your hubby are a VERY handsome couple and make great stand-ins for David and Billie!

I just found your stuff and I'm sure it's been asked a million times before, but have to talked to the dudes putting out the Dr who comics?

Your obvious love of the show and ability would really up the ante on that stuff.

But for all I know, you've done 10 issues and I just wasn't paying attention.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who wants to just dress up as Rose on a daily basis for no reason. XD

I'd love to do like a one shot or a miniseries or something, that would be a lot of fun. I'm not sure who I'd talk to about it though. :)
Thank you for the vote of confidence, though!

I second that, I think a publication, a minibook or a comic, would be in order! This stuff should be seen by more people outside the lj/DA world as well.

With the smoothness of the eraser, there is probably a window with the brushes, right? And when you click on the eraser it shows something like this:

Transparency on

This is with transparency on. It makes it fuzzy, and I circled where I pressed harder because the tablet is pressure sensitive.

Disabled transparency

With this one you can see I've disabled the transparency and the gradient buttons. It makes it smooth as I've pointed out.

My boyfriend has harped on me about this all the time because I'm using open canvas, and when we draw, my fuzzy eraser would slow him down massively. Hope this helps!

(Woah, sorry about the image showing up, I didn't want it to and it did anyway!)

I'm using Toon Boom storyboard program though... I don't think it has the same options. In fact, the settings for the drawing pencil and the eraser seem to be identical (but the pencil is soft.)

Hi Aimee,

Talk to IDW Publishing! They're the ones who are putting out new comic stories based on the 10th Doctor! Yesterday, they just released part 1 of a new miniseries where the 10th Doctor revisits all his past incarnations 8}! I can't wait to read it X)! I just hope the art for this miniseries is better than their last one though ;b! I think there were only a couple decent artists who penciled that one.
