it's so hot right now! like over 100 and we are outside most of the day (everyday since Thurs), I'm so exhausted! like totally death-warmed-over-exhausted. but I have some mostly finished peices now.
This is the chidori piece after the resist was removed, so it's pretty much done. I probably won't "DO" anything with it, it was just to learn.

my finished ume piece (carved by John)

This is a koi piece (carved by John) with the resist still on. It's curing now and I'll remove the paste later.

Today we laquered stencils, it was really hard! I think it will get easier with practice.
the koi I did (I also did some wisteria, butterflies and some petals)

my goldfish:

tomorrow I will probably cone resist on fabric for indigo dyeing. I will probably wait until tuesday to use my stencils so that they have more time to dry.

Date: 2008-05-19 02:34 pm (UTC)basically,... you paint the "blank". So if your fabric is white, the resist keeps it white.
the resist is what you push through the stencil. So it's the opposite of silk screening.
