links to some youtube clips of the short animated films nominated for an Oscar
----While we are talking about that, link me to your favorite short animated films! :) (don't bother listing PIXAR ones, we've all seen those! I want to see some new inspiration!) Please, if possible, link to an online clip from the film.

----Does anyone know a place where I can get a pair of black dr. marten boots for about $70 or under? Kinda like these... I need a women's UK 9 (USA 11)

.... man, getting caught up after being gone for a week is really hard. *_* I have so much to do.
I'm having some serious website/server problems the last couple days. If my site doesn't load, that's why... my non-mac email is farting out too.... I'm trying to get it fixed, but yeah... :....(

What details about the boots are most important? You might want to check out an army/navy store for black army boots if it's the style of boot rather than something real particular about them. They'd probably be cheaper. Else, I'd say to just keep an eye out. Maybe a foreign shop would have them at a favorable exchange rate? Maybe? Hard to say with the dollar being so weak. It's not like it was in the nineties when they were the rage and one could get a friend travelling to London to buy them for 42 quid or $60 1994 dollars. Google says that here are some options, too. Good luck!

I can't think of any short films that I like that you probably wouldn't have already seen. I can't even really think of any "shorts" aside from those done by Aardman in the nineties (again with the nineties).

And good luck with the server. It seems like it's been fit to burst. :\

One of my fav animated short films is Emelie the Five Year Old Goth Girl. I don't normally like 3-D animation, but the the story is really cute.
There's a short clip of it on GoogleVids http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4055417921708455095

You might try Journeys shoe store if you're looking for good prices on Docs. ^_^

Sadly, "The Tender Tale of Cinderella Penguin" is present on the Web only in an even shorter excerpt than its 10 min running time:

But there's always:

Every Child.

Log Driver's Waltz

And if you're tired with my picks from the NFB there are these two "Les Gobellins" productions:

Hi Aimee,

One of my favorite animated films would have to be street of Crocodiles, by the Quay Brothers. It's is very dark and surreal. Almost reminds me of older Tim Burton work. Here is part 1 and 2:

Another great film is Fantastic Planet:

I really fell in love with the music and the unique art style.

Haven't seen too many animated shorts this year, but as for the boots, use ebay. You can pretty much always find classic Docs for cheap there. I own three pairs of Doc Martens and they are the best boots in existence. Don't get some crummy ones from an army-navy store :P

Hi there Aimee! This is angelidollinda16 from DA. I saw you had an live journal so I decided to check it out.

When I was working at Disney World in Florida lat year, they released the Ratatouille DVD which included a small short called Your Friend the Rat. It has a short animation sequence that's really cute and the quirky song that goes with it is pretty catchy. Someone posted a little bit of it on youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=wSk-p44Zr8Y

By the way, do you mind if I add you to my lj friends?
