HELP WITH YEAY THINGS, PLEASE:
------ can anyone point me towards their favorite inspirational craft blogs?
------ Also, does anyone know how I can order Dong-sung Kim's books? I don't care if I can't read Korean. His art looks gorgeous!

random crap:
------ I'm so overworked and tired this month. I'm barely surviving.
------ I hate when my friends are hurt and there's nothing I can do to make the bad things go away.
------ In defiance of my busy-ness, I made half an (easy) skirt yesterday to console myself, but as you can see, I am not done. so I can't show you. even though it has bunnies.
------ I hate that even the THOUGHT of needles makes me almost faint. I had a normal checkup today, and I almost fainted. They weren't even going to poke me with a needle! They were just talking about maybe next year poking me with a needle! I am LAME!!
------ 10 year high school reunion this weekend. I'm too busy to be excited yet. Not sure what to think, but I'm looking forward to seeing my family and my brother's new baby, and the ocean. and shrimp.

Eeeeee! I thought that I was the only adult who can't even think about needles without getting a weird feeling in my legs like I want to run away and curl up into a ball at the same time. I tried to give blood once -- civic duty and all that -- and they almost had to give me CPR. Didn't give a drop of blood, but spent half of the day in their recovery room, drinking juice. ^^;

eeeeeeh, I have the same problem, just the thought of it makes me cringe greatly. I freak doctors out when they try to just draw blood, I turn white as a sheet and look like I'm gonna pass out. And that's how I feel.

Yet sewing no problem. But have anyone come near me with a syringe....

hee hee, I didn't know you liked bunnies! When I get back to school in a couple weeks I will have to take a bunch of photos for you!

I love that silly skirt, please tell me you'll be wearing a mini-crini just like the actual VW design? :D

I remember a couple skirts like this, but, is there actually a VW version with spots like this? if so can you send me pictures?

if time allows I'll make a mini crini (BECUASE THEY ROCK). :) (but it will probably end up being just a regular petticoat due to lack of time.)

Yup! That skirt is totally a rip off VW (I think Misato's like Nana, most of her wardrobe in the manga is 80s VW.) and it was on display at the DeYoung exhibition that you went to. I'll look if it's in the book I have and I'll scan it in for you. :)

yeah, you're totally right about misato! in fact her blouse has the VW globe on it too. I wont have that by July, but at some point I'm going to program that globe into my machine. XD muhahaha.

I remember seeing a red skirt that has the same shape as this one with mini crin. I don't remember exactly what it looked like though, or what the mini crins look like, etc. :D so yeah, I'd love to see if you have a pic!

Not to needle you, Aimee, but lots of us have to give ourselves insulin injections daily. :)

The first time is the hardest. After that, you get used to it. Sorta. (I remember being five years old and getting shots--I yelled a lot.)

Shrimp is good. Fresh shrimp better. :D

I can't help my issue with needles... it's not meant as any insult to people who have to use needles every day. My dad has diabetes.

If it's any consolation, my mother was a medical technician during WWII and had to give injections to many a big, tough, young soldier. A few fainted. :)

Overcoming our phobias is part of growing up. But you'll never likely see me holding a tarantula, for example...if I don't have to, I won't! (Brrr!)

My mother also once accidentally got a finger speared by her Singer sewing machine (my sister still has that machine). She said a couple of choice words, walked over to the kitchen sink to wash the injury, and darn near passed out. I wasn't big or strong enough to hold her up, and the incident sticks (sorry) in my memory. That creeps me out, too. Owie! So be careful with your many sewing projects, eh?

I used to be able to handle needles. Now though...I get all woobly inside if they have to take blood. And forget about watching any sort of needle insertion thing in a movie. I have to cover my eyes. :P

As far as craft blogs check out the list down the right-hand side of my blog: http://www.the13thrabbit.com/ - Also, Helene has even more good ones listed on her Biscuit's House blog (there's a link to hers in my list).

I HATE having blood drawn. I love the idea of giving blood, but since I nearly pass out after a blood test, I don't think I could do it. I told my doctor that having blood drawn freaks me out, and he gave me sedatives (!) to take beforehand. They actually help quite a lot! Unfortunately I have to have blood drawn at least twice a year... ugh. I am getting more used to it, though.

I love love love this craft blog: http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/ It's a cute community and very inspiring! I think you might like it.

Oddly enough, it's completely different in person -- a tattoo gun doesn't have any visible needles, and it's more like a buzzing on the skin than an injection or blood draw.

(I am The Human Pincushion because of my medical issues -- I don't like getting shots or blood draws, but I'm really used to it. Some of my friends have serious needle phobias, though, so I totally understand where you're coming from with it!)

[livejournal.com profile] lucybond can't stand needles but did okay with her tattoos, FWIW . . .

. . . ahahahahah, not that we're not all completely joking with this. I am so flippin' tired and strung-out that I actually started giving a serious answer to this, LOL!!

-- A ^_^

P.S. Wheeee, craft projects and reunion!!

------ I'm so overworked and tired this month. I'm barely surviving.
------ I hate when my friends are hurt and there's nothing I can do to make the bad things go away.

I hear both of those. My boss said last week that he might not be able to pay us and I freaked. I just sent an email to my dad's best friend asking if he can help me (he knows a lot of people) and I am just so overwhelmed with my dad in long term care, work, etc... my coworker's family is over at my house cooking and eating because his power got cut off ><.

I really hope things get better for you soon, you are an amazing artist and deserve a great job!
