I think Tia Dalma lives here. (btw this is where they filmed Swamp Thing and Patriot Games...) It is Cypress Gardens near Charleston, South Carolina. I hadn't been in years. We rode on a flat bottom boat (there are gators in the water, btw. under the lillies. Apologies, I always forget which are gators and which are crocs. :P )

I love how everyone in Charleston says "Yes'm."
I had lots of shrimp, fried chicken and sour dough bread. and chocolate chip cookies.

Cypress Gardens:
can you see the baby gator? :D (you can see him better in this picture)

Larger gator (we saw him while we were in the boat. apparently there were larger ones under the water. I couldn't see. O_O )

a croc in the reptile house. (seriously creeped me out)

The beach (near Fort Moltrie)

OMG, baby gator, so cute!! :D :D :D

They had crocodiles in the reptile house? Neat! (Crocs are the non-native species, gators are the wild ones you see in the U.S.)

It looks like a gorgeous trip, although I can understand the hidden gators being a bit nerve-wracking . . . I'd love to visit someplace like that eventually!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing these with us. I loved the crocs and swamps when I visited Louisiana back in 2002 and I didn't get nearly the quality of pics you did. Probably my best shot here: Matt in the bayou (http://dragonbones.net/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=week2&id=5_08_Louisiana_Bayou_Matt_in_the_Swamp)

Anywho - thanks again for sharing.

Fantastic shots! I like that even though it's still cypress swamp, it looks completely different than our Louisiana cypress swamp. Much prettier, I think!

That baby croc looks pretty angry. He's probably upset that's he's not cute like baby gators.
