--- So these are some of the sashiko stencils I've gotten! I love the traditional Japanese motifs, you can use them for stuff other than sashiko too.
--- The lower image is the bunny fabric I got a Okadaya when I went to Japan. I plan to make an A-line skirt with pockets out of it.

You really should add my cosplay group journal if you haven't already. HCC COSPLAY. I post most of my costuming things there, and all of us are ramping up for cosplay season... you'll see all our work in progress stuff there.

Bunny fabric ♥

You are getting me curious about sashiko! Actually, just those templates push some sort of 'wanty button' with me. Especially the crests. I can't wait to see what you do with them!

well, the large wave crest I already made into red sashiko circles. They're going on my Amaterasu costume. I'm probably going to use some of the repeating wave and grasses designs for the inside of one of the sleeve designs too. I can't decide whether to do it in gold paint, or whether to sashiko stitch it yet though. Maybe I'll do both :D

but I'm thinking I'll put some crests on the bottom corner of some skirts. :)
my bunny skirt is going to have a red thick band at the bottom, so maybe I will put a white or pink stitched sashiko sakura on the red band. :D

stencils = love, especially for repeating or symetrical designs.
