Empress Sissi Musicals

So...

Does anyone know if there is a way for me to find a translated to English (subtitles would be fine) of ANY version of the Elisabeth (Empress of Austria) musical? From the cursory reasearch I did into it, it seems to be only performed in German (the original Austrian version) and in Japanese (Takarazuka). It's been around for a long time and seems to be very popular. Please tell me that at some point of time someone made a video of one of the performances and translated it into English?

When I was in Vienna, they didn't have any video performances of it...however, they did have the libretto in German, and I have a friend who has it, and is a decent hand at translating... I saw the Dutch version of Elisabeth a few years ago, and I don't recall them selling any videotaped copies.. a CD soundtrack was for sale though.

it's so frustrating that there are so many people who translate things, but popular musicals like this never get translated??

I'm from Vienna, and the only version of Elisabeth is in German...I think the only way they'd ever translate it to English is if they manage to export the musical to Britain...and I'm not sure if that will happen @_@
I am going to Vienna on May 18 to visit my parents, if you're interested in the programme booklet (and they actually MIGHT have that one in English), I could pick one up for you (they are about 7 Euros or so). The cast album is still available too. Please let me know.

yeah, i haven't heard of an english version yet either.
they're currently playing the musical (http://www.stageholding.de/21196.htm) in my hometown (stuttgart/germany). i could also go and check their programmes the next time i go there if you like...

Do you think that the book might have some photos from the performance in it? if so that would be really cool ^_^ I'd be perfectly willing to reimburse you of course...!

I'm not sure about the cast album as I"ve never heard it before. I wonder if the songs are similar to the Japanese version? O_O? I'm so curious about this play, as even without knowing what the hperformers were saying in the Japanese version, it's one of my alltime favorite musicals. Isn't that insane? It's so lovely!

No problem, I cannot *promise* that I will get my hands on one, but I will definitely look for it. Actually the theatre's store is supposed to carry them all year long, and I also know a few stores that specifically deal with this kind of things. I bet it would have some nice photos in it.
