short update on japan

having a GREAT time. Last night.... the performance of Elizabeth (takarazuka) with Nao Ayaki (retirement) ...despite the fact that I couldn:t understand what they were saying (other than the plot synop I read) is one of the most wonderful things I have EVER seen. Anyone saying that Nao can:t dance is crazy in the head. She was wonderful, and this is now my favorite Elizabeth, (costumes, sets, music, dancing, singing,etc etc... all improved) and at a close tie with RoV for favoritie all-time musical ever.
I totally cried.

Also thanks to Yuzuko:s recommendation I got made up like a Maiko! huge highlight of my trip... they painted me white... I got to pick out an amazing kimono, gorgeous wig and a great photoshoot. and then at Takarazuka City Annie, AJ and I got to wear takarazuka costumes at the Salon de Takarazuka! We:ll post pics of all when we get back.

Also it snowed in Kyoto on one of our temple days...! We saw a good fortune bean festival in a snow covered temple, Nijo castle in snow, etc, etc. We made snow men.

We each did 2 and the people were SOOO nice. We totally checked out the construction. ;)

Aimee wore blue marie antoinette dress that she:s making and Elisabeth's standard white dress. (Sorry, japanese keyboard challenged. =P

Annie wore the empress/concubine\whatever-the-hell-it-is outfit from flowers of chang-an and Elisabeth of course.

I did a tux revue outfit (not the feathers one cause that ones was fugly) and derTod.

I can:t wait to scan them in so u can see! Oh and we shopped out brains out at the takarazuka store. Much love for Comu/ ^-----------^

My anal retentive side wouldn't let me use contractions whenever I wrote any emails 'cause I couldn't find that damn apostrophe and I didn't want my words looking like I spelled them wrong!

I'm glad you're having a great time so far, wasn't Takarazuka City marvelous? Its so gorgeous in spring when the sakura blossoms are out.

Yeah, it's been cold here recently. Wakayama apparently had a good dump of snow the other day - probably the same day you're talking about.

Osaka doesn't get too much snow. Maybe I should head up to Kyoto next week or something.... oh.. Arashiyama.. Haven't seen that yet. That's it I'm so GOING.
