ZOOLANDER WALK-OFF PARTY TONIGHT!
(look for me in hot pink and my husband in garbage.)

and mostly unrelated....:

On Saturday I went over to Fanime and Fantaisies dans le Monde des RĂªves.
I got to the Magical Boutique in the morning but no one was there! So I did some handsewing on my 18th century gown and listened to Goldfrapp.

The boutique was actually full of awesome stuff. All the dealers brought a lot of stock and I saw a lot of things that I really liked. It was really cool that they had so many designers there, including American ones. I really actually liked everyone's designs, not just one or two designers, so that was cool. Angelic Pretty had an entire box of Jewelry Jelly (jello mold) rings. I remember a year ago when any event like this would only have like a couple accessories. AP had as much clothing, too, as an AP store in Japan. Harajuku Hearts had a lot of awesome Metamorphose stuff (I should have tried on Blooming Garden! Doh!)

What stood out to me was Atelier Pierrot's dresses. I loved the bustle strings in the front and back... and I'd love to make something kinda sorta like that with some more 18th century trimming style (in the fabric of my choice). It was hard to resist this one all black dress they had, though... it actually fit me really well, too. I think the designer was trying to say it was 'special American size'... but I couldn't figure out from her whether this size was regularly available or not.
Some examples of Atelier Pierrot's pretty:

Candy Violet had some gorgeous stuff, I loved the chemise de la reine inspired lolita dress and the maribou feather faux-fur stoles. You can see some of the coordinates they brought for the fashion show here. Chantilly actually had some very whimsical stuff, too... I wasn't aware of their brand before. When I saw the dresses hanging in the Boutique I wasn't that interested,... but seeing them on someone and coordinated well, they had a lot of charm. Sweet Rococo looked cute, too... but by far my favorite of theirs was a red dot dress with gnome houses at the bottom coordinated with yellow tights! so cute!

Angelic Pretty brought Milky Planet (but didn't sell it...) I was thinking maybe I could resist it... but I just don't think I can. I just need to figure out what color I want. (Sidenote: Sadly a lot of brands, especially Angelic Pretty's, spring and summer lines are shorter than normal. BOO!) I also still really like Jewelry Jelly. It's such a charming refreshingly colored print. I saw the Jelly hat in the Boutique... it looks like it has a plastic cup form inside with the outside covered in transparent sparkly fabric. Very clever!
Most of all, I want the Chickie bag. D: D: D:

I was mostly "good" and avoided buying any clothes, but I did buy some jewelry. Here's some silly stuff I bought at the boutique:

While we were waiting for the teaparty to start I sat with some friends in the lobby. (including Zaynie and Tara. I thought this was so cute with them admiring each others' dresses (aren't they adorable?!)

closeup desu!

Taking a couple photos with a rad car outside with Tara and Danielle.

Zaynie! I ADORE her outfit. This is Meta's new Blooming Garden print. The print stands out really well on the black, doesn't it? And I love how she paired it with an open neck blouse from Baby and white floral tights. :)

NOW TO THE EVENT ITSELF.
You can see more photos (not by me) from the event here:

Kokusyoku Sumire wearing Atelier Pierrot

A quick drawing of Kokusyoku Sumire while they were playing.

I took a couple photos at the fashion show... but unfortunately the light was pretty dark and the models moved pretty fast, so I wasn't able to get a lot of good photos, sorry!

Here's Angelic Pretty's designer, Maki,... being way too adorable in the new Strawberry "Milky Berry" print. Lolita designers tend to annually release berry prints for summer.

Wonder Cookie!

Happy Garden (Easter inspired print) with the chickie bag that I want SO BAD.

One of Atelier Pierrot's. They paired the dress with a tophat and ankle boots for a bit of a steampunk flair (without being overt). I loved a ton of their dresses.

Julie looking way too lovely in Candy Violet's Chemise De La Reine inspired dress

Closeup of my new ring and necklace. I drove all the way back home from work on Friday to get this purse because I forgot it. Haha. Lame. I love this purse though, this was my first chance to wear it. I got it used on YJA last month. It's the purse for Wonder Party (the skirt I'm wearing.) The ring and necklace were designed for the new Wonder Cookie print... but it all matches Wonder Party, too! Kismet!

Some girls at the teaparty who had really lovely outfits! The outfits at this teaparty were really amazing. I wish I'd gotten more photos. I was really enamoured with everyone. SO FANCY!

After the event ended I went to dinner with Judy, Tara, Danielle, Liz, Saru and Ashlee

Here's some rad photos Annie took of me in my outfit for the day (love that building!)

SUNDAY -----------
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT.......

On Sunday I mostly just hung out with AJ and Judy while they worked on Bioshock. I did some handsewing on my 18th century zone front and got one fitting done. (I still need to set the sleeves though)

AJ and Judy thinking about working

Here's AJ trying to map out the size of her Bioshock suit with a piece of wrapping paper

AJ sawing off a big tube for one of her guns, while Judy ponders the giant mass of her Big Daddy work-in-progress.

Sunday evening we had a lovely dinner with the fine folks from Colorado (Mandi, Lauren, etc) and I abused their cosplay items.
WE WEAR WOOL BECAUSE IT'S COLD IN SPACE! 13 stars for the 13 space colonies!

Monday I went home. <3
I had a nice time, my only regret is that I didn't get to see a lot of people... but it's been a busy couple of months, so I just wasn't up to trekking all over. :X
