doing camera-assisted art tutorials live

does anyone know if there's some way to do a live-feed with a FLIP camera or a normal digital camera (recording video)...?

specifically, can I do a live webcast in this way?
Also, can I do a live demonstration at a convention this way...? what would I need to do this sort of thing?
I guess I could always use a WACOM with a laptop hooked up to projection, but I prefer to draw/color by hand and not on the computer for demos.

I know we used to have drawing demos at calarts with cameras hovering over physical drawing desk.... hooked up to a projection system, but I don't know. my geek-fu is lacking.

Regular external webcam for a computer mounted on a tripod or other top down looking setup. That hooked up to a computer then to a projector. You can fullscreen the video from the webcam, or use it next to other artwork or whatever else you might want to show on the screen.

To be more specific, I don't know about the FLIP cameras, but some Digital Cameras have the ability to do live streams through whatever connection to PC they have (not most though).

I know it's possible to do live feeds through webcams to whatever online system you prefer, not sure what your overall goal is though. To be effective you'd need a pretty solid refresh rate on the video stream or it would look more like stop motion drawing.

If you have your digicam hooked up to your laptop, you could theoretically have Windows Movie Maker broadcast it onto a projector for a live demonstration at a convention.
