TODAY'S TEA: Pai Mu Tan White (upton Tea Imports)

mau... why can't I find a sofa like this for cheaaaap? :) People call them chaises, sofas, couches, victorian, Louis XV, all sorts of things, but ... all of them are too pricey, or not pink. :) (if I can't find something better, there's always ikea)

feeling a bit better, btw.
Mitch brought me breakfast in bed ( YAAAAY!) and I crossed some stuff off my list yesterday, so that takes some stress off. Today I'm going to see how much I can pack.

This book, Domino: The Book of Decorating, is the best decorating book I've looked over in the past couple weeks. Yay, LIBRARY. Also am reading Ortho All about Roses, Roses for Dummies, ..... my top favorite roses right now are cl Eden, cl Crepuscule, cl Renae.... and non-climber Duchesse de Brabant.
... and reading about how to make a sturdy trellis for my arches in the front of my house.
only that I don't know how to use power tools. HUR HUR. destruction will ensue.

I need to find a way to use this decorative rose molding applique in my room. ... I could make a resin cast of it, curve it, and use it as a teester bed crown type thing... (hanging fabric above a couch instead of a bed...) (Btw, similar "real" bed crowns are like $170. That's ridiculous!)

Also, this mirror/shelf is going in my sewing room. kekeke.

Oh man, I LOVE that rose molding; I think it would absolutely beautiful as a "couch crown". What color fabric would you use?

... Well that would make sense. XD

Have you thought about maybe trying to look for a cheap version of the couch and then getting it reupholstered in pink? Could be cheaper if you can't find a reasonably priced one.

Ah, you can sew like mad, I'm sure you'll master power hand tools in no time! Next thing we know you'll be creating not just garden wonderlands but your own furniture...

(Being forced to use sanders and drills and other Massive Scary Power Tools bigger than me was the *only* good thing about the awful 3-Dimensional Design course I took as an art major.)

And although that couch is way too pink for me I love how it's so classical without being fussy, heavy, or overwrought. It's great.

Sometimes I wish IKEA weren't so ... Scandinavian. Hahaha. You know? (I'm really not into "modern.")

I dunno, is it really expensive to have something reupholstered? I've never done it before!

this would be pretty cool if it was pink:

Hmm... To be honest, I'm not really sure about how much it would be either, but I know my grandmother just got all of her furniture reupholstered to match her new condo. Maybe it's something you could call local places to see what they charge in your area?

Oh wow, I LOVE that design. <3 *simpers*

I love that you seem to feel about colours exactly the same way as I do :-)

I'm considering redecorating my spare room, the one that I use to work on dolly projects. It's currently a fabulous purple colour but I'm considering a move to pink. I need a pink room in this house and this may be the only way I'll get one! Just got a new gorgeous doll though, so bit distracted at the mo...

Or learn to do it yourself? It can't be that difficult.

There is a wonderful looking, large-ish Victorian sofa in the window of the Council Thrift Shop on Venice. It's a brown, wooden frame with cream upholstery, and some buttons. Not a full button back, but some. You could grab it and reupholster it! Did you check Craig's List? When I sold my Victorian sofa a while ago, there were lots of listings.

O.O Well yes, but... I mean I... I wouldn't want to impose! ;A; Especially since I would have no way to come meet you since I won't have a car.
