TODAY'S TEA: Fortnum & Mason Earl Grey Classic (with milk and sugar)

I'm planning the paint color for my sewing room.
Does anyone have room photos that are cute like this? Could be little girls' rooms or boutiques... whatever! Don't have to be pink, but have to be super cute.

Debating whether I should paint my new sewing room the light green I had before (which looks pretty with pink and white accessories) or whether I should go full pink ... or even light blue (ala my icon). :D

Another great pink room is Alix's from The Cherry Blossom Girl

I'm definitely going to do some Victorian-style plaster of paris wall decorations in white. :D Should be a nice soft contrast with any light pastel wall color, really.

So anyway, PLEASE SHOW ME MORE CUTE ROOM PHOTOS! <3

I love blue or a blue-toned mint green with pink -- it really makes it pop! (Speaking of, did you wind up getting that jumper?)

of course!! what I really want though is a pink 18th-century-esque arm chair. I'm hoping I can find one for cheap somewhere and maybe paint and reupholster it

I really dig the blue, but for some reason pink-on-pink seems really you.

I'm so jealous! I want so much to decorate a sewing room for myself! ^_^

Instead of paint, ever think of wallpaper (http://roomenvy.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/childrens-room13.jpg)? I know it can be a pain to put up and take down but it's closer to the 18th century style aesthetic that you like.

And this blog, Belle Maison (http://www.bellemaison23.com/) is great source for inspiration as well as links to decorating sites.

I think if I did wallpaper it would only be one wall,.. I wouldnt want it to look too busy when I'm already going to be adding plaster decorations to the walls, etc..
(also if I want to change the color later, it will be easier.)

so the effect will be like this:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_JwKcIkr8tIo/Sqh__8ForxI/AAAAAAAAGps/u2s6vuQg93U/s400/WALL+DECAL+CHALKBOARD.jpg

but in whites and pastels. basically,... or like in my icon, you can see the white molding on the blue walls.

If I use wallpaper, it might be more like this, as an accent:

Thanks for the links, though! :)

The green is really pretty with the pink and white -- refreshing, instead of overwhelmingly sweet.

How about fat vertical stripes? Either in shiny-pink w/ matte pink, or shiny-blue w/ matte blue.

I wish I had a room to full out decorate. Oh the woes of apartment living~~~

My daughter has a darkish pink with black trim in her room and it really works. It's kinda 1950s Barbie.

Yeah, looking at the picture of your old sewing room, everything in the room is pink. The dress, the boxes, the feathers, the shadowbox.... I love the little picture you posted, and with your idea of white plaster mouldings, a blue wall would set off all of your pink nicely, especially if you had a pink chair!

I still want there to be cakes everywhere, though. I'm fixated :D

Oooh! I love how in the tchochkes link, they have a white-on-white wallpaper on the wall, and then they have a frame with the same wallpaper with black-on-white. Very interesting.

Cooler colours are meant to be more soothing :) which could be good for a working space. I think blue walls with white decorations could be amazing!

I'm not sure about color (I like that pink and orange stripey look) but I know you absolutely need this chandelier for the room. Okay, it's over $5k but wouldn't it be sooo worth it? :D

it's my old room, it was really small, but I put ikea shelves in so I'd have lots of room for fabric!

I wanna see your pink striped room! it sounds cute!

the great thing about that is, you can get frames for cheap and paint them... and the pillows you could gradually make or buy of themes that you like.
