Vive la France! - Disneyland

Michelle really wanted to go to Disneyland for her birthday this weekend. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHELLE!) It also happened to be Bats Day weekend! Sat we went to CA Adventure, and Sun, we went to the main park. I'd been working so hard, I really welcomed a weekend of getting outside and being silly.

Michelle decorated a "bats day" dress for the occasion.


Truemee was, of course, a ninja!

I went kurololi (actually, I don't think I've done all black before! This month has been so exhausting for me though, perhaps I felt a bit black. ha ha.) Dress is BTSSB L size, shirt is F21. :)

So Sunday was the epic day of "It's Michelle's birthday and she asked us to dress like bad French stereotypes" day, in manner of StrongBad.

(Dear Friends, we are dorks and this was done in fun, so if you are French, please do not be offended. <3 Also, I speak no French.)

In fact, instead of offending people, the following reactions prevailed:
- very confused children
- gleeful Disney castmembers and random adults shouting French stuff at us. (to which we would respond with things like "Fetchez la vache!", "Vive la France!" or "Joie de vive!" )
- equally gleeful responses from goths <3 (one of which pulled out her own mustache to get a photo!)

dressing up sillily like this is the best. Because instead of just having fun because of the park/outing itself, your very outfit brings out hilarious and adorable reactions from almost everyone you pass. So it's like the outfit is the ride. Just walking around and seeing a parade of berets and stripes was amusing enough. XD

And there was random singing of "Les Poissons" from The Little Mermaid (I think our entire crew knew all the lyrics...)





Also, mustaches fill everyone with glee.

I love the silly little sub ride. I'm glad they revamped it but kept it's charm.

Oh man, I had to get a picture of myself in front of Boo's door, too. That was by far my favorite ride--especially the grouchy receptionist at the end. I love how someone was behind the wall actually talking, because she says different things to different people, it's awesome!

I thought CA Adventure park was closed? I suppose I'm wrong. Love these pictures, it makes me miss Disneyland all over again. I'm glad you had a great time!

I'm glad Disney isn't as tough on costumes as they used to be. I remember knowing people who weren't allowed in--and they were dressed in their usual clothes! (Ok, so they did't dress conservatively, but they were far from costumes!)
