am back from Costume College! (preview above... no more right now, sorry)
Judy and I had a GREAT TIME. So many beautiful gowns, I was in heaven! At times I felt like I was living in 18th century France... <3 Now I just want to make like 5 gowns. I learned a TON, everyone was really nice and I got to meet some folks from online that I admired! :D I'll post more about it later with photos, etc.

In the meantime, ...

progress on my Vampire Hunter D Sword
! XD XD

photo from shipperamy of me at my SDComicCon booth with tako-san. (Thanks, Amy!) Tako-san is a gift from AJ. I keep him as a cute-ness factor for the booth and moral support. Tako-san, truly, though, is a seiza chair (made to ease the stress off your knees when sitting seiza... which is fabulous because it's adorable, and I have bad knees.)

Great photos!

If you're into cel collecting, Rick at Anime Link has an excellent collection of VHD: Bloodlust cels, douga, and genga. I picked up four pencil backgrounds this year to add to an A1 Benge, an oversize pan genga of Charlotte, and some rough sketches of D in action. :D Marvelous stuff.

I got some from him in the past, but I'm pretty happy with what I have.

Tako-san is really cute! XD But I really can't imagine how you'd use that as a chair when sitting in seiza position. It seems a bit small.

You're picture of Tako-san reminds of when my husband and I were in London a few months ago. We went to Covent Gardens and there was a store-front sign with a chibi octopus on it. I exclaimed "Hey look! It's Tako-san!" (if referance to Japan AI) to which my husband just gave me one-of-those-kinda-looks and quietly walked away.

Great pics tho - Costume College sounds like lots of fun.

these gowns look harder than they are, imho. If you can make a pleated skirt, you can make one of these. :) There is a decent amount of work involved,... but if you look at them, there aren't that many fitted areas, you know? It's kindof a big bag with some fitted areas to hold it to your body.

it's basically hidden by your legs, but it hold your butt higher and takes the weight off your knees. :)

"Sorry, Please do not touch Mr. Octopus, he is shy"

"Tako-san is just helping. Not for sale, Sorry!"

(too many grubby cheetos hands!)
