I was interviewed regarding my Doctor Who artwork for the webzine, The Terrible Zodin! You can find the interview starting on page 20. I talk a bit about how I got into Doctor Who and my work process when trying to do likeness images.I won favorite artist for the Doctor Who Children of Time Awards!
WAH, thanks you guys!

This weekend was pretty awesome. I woke up and dressed up like a butler and went out to the park with Annie. Half of my outfit is from Mitch's wardrobe. ha ha... We set up a cute little table under one of the good sakura trees and then covered the table in lace, crystal, china, mochi and CUPCAKES. cupcakes with pink skulls on them. And then Jason took frou frou photos of said setup.

Then I changed into jeans (left the tux shirt on) and trundled over to have a picnic with iamchubbybunny, yumeninja, sekiria, kuramew, pourmecoffee, daitenshi_dream, neku_niku and lots of lovelies.

(photos with datestamp thanks to yumeninja)
It was totally relaxing and faboo. Just enough sun and just enough breeze, right by the lake with like two or three blooming trees and lots of good food and good conversation.

after a couple hours, I changed (in my car, no less) into Anotsu from Blade of the Immortal to geek out with Jinyo, Ali and Ash. I don't think I really look like Anotsu,... but who cares, I LOVE BOTI!! We took fake samurai photos with Jason in the bamboo forest of epicness.
My friend Derek (who is a real ninja) let me borrow a couple of his "bang around swords" since there was no way I had enough time to make Anotsu's sword. It secretly made me feel kinda badass to be carrying around a real ninja's swords, though. haha. We'll just say I killed some dude and took his swords, right? Luckily, I did not cut off my ear or something in the course of the afternoon.
Here's a rad shot of Ash as Rin from said shoot by Jason. I can't wait to see more photos!

Sunday, Mitch and I went to see Das Rheingold at the LA Opera House. I have to say, I didn't hate the art direction as much as I thought I was going to. There were some awkward moments, but there was some really interesting things, too. Loge (Loki?) was pretty fabulous. I'm not really awake enough to fully detail my opinion about it... but I enjoyed it... I didn't LOVE it though. None of the music gave me goosebumps like some of our other favorite operas have.
After the opera we went to Glendale to buy pants and had a special treat,... we went to Katsuya (which has some seriously yummy fusion Japanese food).
I wore my Meta Swan Lake skirt, Anna Lou Magic Mirror Necklace and my Irregular Choice swan shoes. Cause um... they're mythical?

if you look at this map, it's at the "B" location. You can actually go inside it like a little bamboo cave! there's a "river" next to it, too.
the black butler photos were at this one tree by my car. lol.
