cowboys and rastas
Jan. 23rd, 2009 08:39 pmSO GLAD IT'S FRIDAY.
More hustle-training tomorrow. Which might sound a bit misleading given the pimpin boots below.
OH EM GEE.
For a while I'd been toying with the idea of getting a pair of cowboy boots to wear with jeans and dresses... I've been loving my other boots so much... so I finally got a pair I liked on ebay for super cheap. I love that they look like they've had a life. The toes are all pointy and pimpin. XD Now I just need to get some slim leg jeans to tuck into them. But these boots, I LOVE THEM. I could not resist dancing around the living room in them. YAY

I saw this silly SNL video today (from orange-crushed) and had a huge wave of college nostalgia and had to do a little sketch to help you understand. When I was 17 or so I moved 3,000 miles to go to art school (Calarts) in Valencia, CA. Which basically meant, I went to school with Ras Trent. The exception being us geeky animator types (as seen above)

Date: 2009-01-24 09:02 am (UTC)Oh man, I'm so glad I haven't ran into any Ras Trents, seeing as I live right in the middle of SoCal and just a half our drive from CalArts. If I do meet one, he'd better be Andy Samberg.

Date: 2009-01-24 06:57 pm (UTC)i can totally relate to the animator & art student thing haha. i think i was more of a hybrid of the 2 obviously cause of the way i dress. but all my friends in the animation program were socks & sandals types.

Date: 2009-01-24 07:47 pm (UTC)But I was also a hybrid, like above poster. Since I had my hands in the fashion department a little I think that decided things for me, and also since I was the anti-establishment goth kid in high school, when I went to art school and everyone was 'anti-establishment' I kind of turned preppy.
Jeff says that he knew annoying girls who just bought all their clothes from the darkest corner of Goodwill, they looked awful, but that was the cool thing to do.
He says they wore teddy bears that they took the stuffing out of and wore them as jackets.
Wow.
Oh art school. *e-highfive*
