A.J., Judy, Cheryll and Char stayed with me this weekend. YEAY GIRLY TIME.
girly time with lots of FOOD. LOVE. apparently England left me craving Japanese food... so Japanese curry, crepes, edamame and sushi were had at various times. Also the winter brew at Gordon Biersch is pretty lovely. (also had egg salad sandwiches and scones) MMM.

slightly related:

Vanilla, Rose, Lemon and Chocolate Macarons from Laduree @ Harrod's London.

Macarons! Do you know where one can acquire them in California? I've only ever seen fake ones (on keychains and such) and I really want to know how they taste. O_o

Macarons! Were they soft and flaky and tasty?

I have wanted to find a good macaron place in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, La Maison du Pain (the bakery I used for Yumemiru Musical Paradise's macarons & tarts) didn't seem like they had that great of macarons when I had to bulk order them for the event. I felt a little bad that they were a bit dry, stale and overbaked in some of the flavors. Ironically, when I had taste-tested them at the actual storefront, they were very, very good. So it was an inconsistent result...

Nevertheless, do you have any suggestions for *good* macarons?
