Last Remaining Seats is open now. If you've never been before, and you live in the LA area, this thing is wonderful. They take really old AWESOME theaters in downtown LA (really classic ones with big organs and sculpted insides) and show classic movies, for one night only per each movie.
Last time I saw a silent movie complete with a period-style flapper-dance and a song number before (and they even played the organ, just like you would have seen the film originally!) and the theater, the Orpheum, was stunning. It was magical.
I'm also really happy to see the Million Dollar Theater finally back as it truely should be. I've gone past that thing and stared past the iron bars so many times, so sad to see it there rotting away. I hope it stays open. :)

So really, you should check it out. Several of the performances are already sold out.

Blade of the Immortal, one of my favorite manga, is being made into an animate (trailer on the site).

I'm not sure what to think, the art is pretty true to the original, which is saying something. But gore is somehow palatable in the comic (not sure if I'll be cool with it in motion). And in the comic, I can stare at how awesome someone's toes were drawn in that little panel in the corner, or the atmosphere that comes from the placement of things. I'm not confident that as an anime, it will have that aura, but I'm willing to give a shot. Especially since several of the shots were EXACTLY like they were in the manga, which means at the very least, that they are respecting their source. GAH, I love Blade of the Immortal, it's so masterful. *_*
