a night at the opera (Fidelio)

well, Fidelio is now my second favorite next to the Marriage of Figaro. It was totally WOW. I loved the lighting, the costumes, the voices and THE MUSIC. It was like angels.
it's been a bit hit or miss with the operas we've seen so far. We went to tonights performance because it was Opening Night for the entire season, and hey, it's Beethoven, right? But instead of it just being "ok" it was amazing. ..... Though the pants role still has nothing on Takarazuka. :)

Prior to the show we had a lovely dinner in the lowlit back of a froufrou restuarant. I had dessert (oh noes!)

Mitch and I tonight:
(Mitch hasn't worn a tux since our wedding! Fun! I made my outfit. The shawl is a shigoki obi. )
