Comic-Con Photo Post

Please be patient with me regarding email responses, I'm sick and still trying to catch up from Comic-Con. I will respond as soon as I can!
Regretably, I didn't take that many photos! But here's some!
Crystal (Haminal) and Derek (Marishi 10 --- his website is almost up) and I shared a booth this year at Comic-Con!
This is us on Thurs:
then, that night I had dinner with people about my Japan Ai book, ... it went really well I think! I'm encouraged that people seem to like the book. We took a preview copy that was the first 80 pages in black and white.
I wore this kimono:
the kimono is:

On Friday, I decided to dork out in kimono again... (the kimono is covered with a milky way, stars and moons...)
AJ came by... note she's holding a postcard of herself in the same outfit. haha dorks! XD
and these STRANGE PEOPLE came by!
(translation: some of my cosplay friends. :) dude, isn't the expression on Kyle's face priceless? also PINK JEDI and Oscar doing Ratatouille, YEAY!)
Basically, I sat at the booth for most of the weekend and did sketches. I didn't really buy that much. My main purchases were sketchbooks from a few of my favorite artists, Flight V. 4 and a Chris Sanders sexy statue (YEAY!).
Then I had to go get ready for the Masq.
a lot of the time we make costumes that make us immobile... so we often have "handlers" with us to help us dress and not trip all over ourselves. Well... this time the handlers were part of our skit! XD... also, we made them special vests! (it says HCC transport crew on the back) These vests made it so other people at various times thought they were staff too, which was an added bonus. lol. Anyway, we did need help, we were useless and lame. good times.

after this, we didn't make last call, so we walked to this late night pizza place and ate pizza on the curb, which actually, was fabulous (the pizza and the curb). a lovely end to the weekend. Other good memories are sitting in the hot-tub the night before.
then after bruising myself up and down trying to carry comic-book boxes without a wheely cart, I made my way home with this sunset:

but if some eastcoast folks want shirts or sketchbooks from me, then I can bring some with me.
I've been encouraging crystal to have a blog or website for years, but it's just not her thing (yet anyway!) maybe haminal will encourage her to post more of her work online! :) She was one of the assistant directors on the Simpsons movie, so that has kept her very busy, of course!
