back to the grind
Feb. 21st, 2007 07:12 amMom went home this morning.I miss my mom already! :(!
....We got SO MUCH done. I still have a few things to finish up though, so I'm not going to post many pictures yet. ....I feel a cold coming on. I hope not.
what we basically did:
- cleaned and threw away stuff in the garage so that all the stuff from the living room is now back in the garage (this was one of the biggest jobs)
- got boxes, a mirror and frames (and put some of them up) in the new garage work room
- got a new desk that fits in the dining area and moved the "office" downstairs. (that was not fun)
- took down the huge ugly blinds in the bedroom, kitchen and living room and replaced most of them.
- replanted my garden (the most fun thing)
one thing I haven't been able to find? A good shelf for my markers. I want to display/store them like most stores display pens to buy, so that all the caps are facing out and the markers are mostly horizontal.

- the garden has dwarf mono grass, 1 little red cyclamen, 2 new ferns (and one remaining fern and a few violets from when the HOA dug up my garden without warning...) the lantern is from my late grandparents... and the big flat rock, my mom carted all the way from South Carolina, because she is silly and awesome like that..... oh and it has LOTS OF ROCKS because you CANT KILL ROCKS.
I got this little mini chand from target for the workroom... thanks to Becky!

the almost done workroom... I just have to put some boxes together and organize it.
In a couple months after we save up some money, we'll probably get rid of the dresser and replace it with some white shelves.

this is the $20 full-length mirror I got at a store going out of business. It was an ugly brown/gold, so I'm repainting it. It'll be great in my froufrou work room!

Date: 2007-02-21 06:51 pm (UTC)For marker shelves try calling around to art stores. At the place I worked we often had old marker displays in the back from either upsizing or downsizing displays or because the companies updated their displays and had sent us new ones. Prismacolor recently (ie...within the last year) updated their entire line so shops may have the old displays still. The Prismacolor display we had kept the pens horizontal with the pens lengthwise so one could see the barrels easily. It fit Trias as well...Copics might be a little short for that display though...? (Someone stole all my markers so I can't compare lengths... :P )
