^--- new art (sortof)
Today's Comic Purchases:
Trinity Blood (SQUEEE!)
Tsubasa (adorable art as usual)
Banya (by Kim Young-Oh) - I bought this one because I really liked how the artists drew faces. It reminded me a bit of Vagabond (in a good way.) Very expressive and full of action!
Emma - this one is about a maid in 19th century England. I bought it based on someone else's glowing recommendation, despite being very not "wowed" by how the artist drew faces... I decided to give it a shot. I'm SO GLAD I DID. After you get past the kinda primitive drawing of faces... this book is actually VERY endearing! The artist obviously went to a huge amount of trouble to get the location and details accurate to the time and period. It's very delicately told like a Jane Austen type story. Also, the choice of shots was poignant and sensitive. I ended up really wanting to read the next book and totally caring about the characters, and actually growing to like the art. :) I recommend for girly-manga lovers.
Othello - this is an older manga that I picked up on a whim because it had EGL in it. I'm retarded. However, I also enjoyed it. It has a little of "Peach Girl" feeling to it. If you like "The Devil Does Exist" or "Peach Girl" you'd probably like this one.
